Hosted Fanfiction
This webpage contains links to fanfics, often unfinished ones, that have captured my interest, but are no longer available elsewhere on the internet. Keep in mind that I did not write any of the stories listed on this page. Also know that while most of these stories are unfinished, they are excellent examples of storytelling. Learn from them.
A Rock and a Hard Place By Zen What if Ranma got hit by a truck? This work is by Zen, and that should be reason enough to read it, but if you aren't convinced yet, I will say that it is a tremendous force of symbolism and scope. Everything about it feels perfectly paced and collected, even the references which shouldn't have any place in the Ranmaverse don't feel forced into being (I'm speaking primarily of the M.Y.T.H. Inc joke here). A Rock and a Hard Place is my favorite of Zen's works.
Long and Winding Road By Zen
Chapter 2 You know, it really is a shame that Zen abandoned fanfiction. I can only hope that he went on to publish original works that offer the same stunning quality as his Ranma work.
The Rose and the Worm By David Homerick What if Kodachi had gotten treatment before Ranma arrived?
Twilight Existence By Scott K. Jamison. A first person narrative of Rankos life, in a world where those cursed by Jusenkyo live dual lives.
A Wasted Wish - By Tail Kinker. There are several cliche crossover events, one of those is Ranma recieving a wish from the cast of Ah! Megami-Sama. In this version, however, the story is actually interesting.
Patchwork - By Wyrm. Yeah... no clue what's going on here. Insane idea.
Alternatives - by Mike Allen. One of the commonly considered options for Ranma to solve his fiancee dilemma. I think this is the only fic I've seen actually do it. Parts Part 1 . Part 2 . Part 3 . Part 4 . Part 5 . Part 6 . Part 7. Part 8 . Part 9 . Part 10 , Part 11 , Part 12 .
Olvido - By Colleen Leah Morgan. There are precious few pieces of fanfiction that I am so disturbed by as to be physically uncomfortable. Some of these, such as Hybrid Theory, are because I am appalled by the actions taken by some of the characters. Whereas some of these, like Olvido, are because I'm genuinely moved by their plight emotionally. I only have the first two parts of this fic, but if someone could find the remaining pieces, I would be most gratified.
If you know of some remarkable piece of fanfiction that has lost its home, e-mail me and I may be able to put it up for a little while.
