| Prep Work: Before you go inside the Ruins it'd be good if you had a lot of Life spells/ Phoenix Downs and Curing spells/ Hi potions and make sure you have Diablos in your party and that he has a pretty high compatibility with whoever he's junctioned to. Demi spells are also useful since they do a lot of damage to an enemy. (takes out 1/4 of an enemy's HP) |
| To get the Tonberry King GF you'll have to first kill 18-22 Tonberrys inside the Centra Ruins before it'll show up. Not only does this take a lot of time because of their high amounts of HP (20,000) but it gets hard since they have evil attacks like Everyone's Grudge which does 2,000 damage to a single character. You'll also notice that during the fight the Tonberry slowly walks closer and closer to your party. Once he's close enough he'll use his ultimate attack called Chef's Knife causing 4,000 damage to whoever he stabs. The absolute dumbest thing about fighting a Tonberry though is that they don't give any experience and only 1 AP so all of your hard work is for nothing unless you count the GF. |

| GF Fight: Anyways once the Tonberry King does show up you won't be able to take a break and heal since the battle starts right where the last one left off. This time Diablos isn't any help since the King is immune to his attack so just use all your other GFs especially the strong ones and boost them as much as you can. Also cast Haste and Protect on your party since the Tonberry King is faster than the normal tonberrys and to, of course, protect your party from his attacks. You can also draw Full-Life and Curaga spells from the Tonberry King and use them on your party if he happens to kill anyone or hurt them which is better than using the ones from your inventory. You also might wanna dedicate one person completely to healing and drawing from the Tonberry. This battle takes a long time since the Tonberry has at most 250,000 HP so just try and stay alive and keep hitting him. |
