| A chocobo forest looks like all the other forests in the game except they are dome shaped. In order to catch a chocobo and to be able to ride it you have to solve the puzzle of the forest you're in. To solve a puzzle you have to call out chocobos in a pattern that leaves only one chocobo out on the ground, using your trusty ChocoWhis which you can buy from Chocoboy for 1000gil and 700gil for each time you get it stolen from a chocbo when you blow it in the wrong spot. The chocowhis has two modes: Chocosonar and Chocoziner. The ChocoSonar is used to 'sniff out' a Chocobo's location. While you're walking around the ChocoWhis will make a soft ping and it changes to a faster-louder ping when you're standing on the right spot. When you're standing on one of these spots you wanna switch the Chocowhis to ChocoZiner mode. When you blow the ChocoZiner Chicobos will either drop from above or go into hiding. And if you're not on the right spot a chocobo will come down and steal your chocowhis. Once you solve the puzzle you can search the forest for hidden items on the ground but make sure you don't leave the forest until you find the item or else you'll be forced to solve the puzzle again next time you come in. |
