silly (giggles, what?, cucumber...)
a word in another language (sombrero, loco, draco…)
a favorite something (food, color, character, hobby…)
Some suggestions:
Keep it short & memorable (e.g "Gator" instead of Alligator-two syllables seem to be the best; if you want a longer name, like "Quaking Aspen", plan your nickname to be "Aspen")
Know your name (e.g. If you've chosen "Orion", find out where it is in the sky, some background on it; if you've chosen "Huckleberry" find out if they grow where you're at, how to identify it, etc.)
