I had hope during a commercial break they would come back and say there was a change in the standings, but that never came.  The wrong pair was getting the gold and the silver.  I felt that the Russian's didn't earn the gold, and that Jamie and David should've gotten it.  I cried watching the medal ceremony, and watching that it wasn't going to changed. I watched as  the story was told and thought, there was something fishy going on.  But the good part of it, was that Jamie and David were good sports about it and accepted the silver with a smile, although you could see the sadness on their faces.
"Ice skating is ice skating, a medal is a medal, but a flawless performance lives on forever!"
That night and the next day all you heard about was the controversies surrounding the event.  I supported taking the gold away from the Russian's and giving it to the Canadian's!  I was still steamed about it the next day!   That night, my mom and I talked about what they should do, and it went from the extreme of taking the gold away from Elena and Anton and giving them the silver, to them redoing their performances, to both getting the gold.  It was a long 3 days waiting to hear what was going to happen, but Jamie and David went out and enjoyed the Olympics!
February 14, 2002 we all find out that they were getting the gold!  I found out by e-mail, read the article and watched cartoons!  LOL I was excited, but was sick of reading about the controversy by that time.  I did catch the press conference and David, he is so funny, saying "We do hope we get the bronze too, for our collection in our living room."  :)  Had to put some humor to the situation!

February 17, 2002, the special ceremony was held after the ice dance competition.  The Russian's were scared of what would happen, but they got a warm welcome!  No tomatoes were thrown at them!  :)

It was a great end to the Olympics!  That right outcome came out, and I am sure anyone that watched this, will never forget what happened.  Personally, if I was a judge, I would score on what I saw on the ice, not what I told some one I would do.  I love both pairs, but to me, Jamie and David did have the golden performance that night.  But it's awesome to see them all skating together on tour and having a good time. :)
