Born in Sayabec Quebec, David Pelletier made an instant difference in his family. The hyper child made life interesting for the Pelletier family. From the very beginning his parents Murielle and Jacques tried to keep him and his brothers, Martin and Mathieu in sports in order to keep them busy. In a small town like Sayabec, there wasn't much else to do. His parents orignally put him and his brothers into figure skating in order to improve their hockey skills. As much as David and his brothers complained, Murielle would hear none of it. Her boys were going to figure skate. Final story.
As young children, the Pelletier boys knew how to get into trouble. Murielle often had to fight with the boys in order to get them to the rink in time for their lessons, as well as to stay on the ice for the allotted time. This lesson about dedication would stay with David for the rest of his life.

As he grew older, David came to love making the girls fly high. He soon came to realize he would not train for pairs with his orginal coach Roland Paquet. He went on to train in Rimouski with David Graham. There he met his first partner, Julie Laporte. At age 17 David realized that he could go no father with Julie, and was left with a tough choice. Did he move to Boucherville and hook up with a new partner in order to progress further in the world of pairs, or did he stay in Rimouski and have fun with Julie?
Although the decision was tough, David knew what he had to do. By the end of that year, David had moved, and hooked up with a new partner named Allison Gaylor. Like any serious Canadian athlete, he faced finacial troubles throughout his stay in Boucherville. However, thanks to dedicated parents and David's drive to help, he was able to raise just enough money each year to get by.
From Gaylor, David moved onto a young girl named Caroline Roy. The partnership didn't last long however, and David was soon left with the choice to find another partner or simply retire. Getting married during the summer of 1998 also had to be considered in David's plans. However, he got a phone call one day from a girl out west, her name was Jamie Sale. After a trip to Edmonton, he knew the partnership was as good as gold. Sale soon made the trip to join Pelletier in Montreal, and they began their partnership. About a year after the partnership began, David filed for divorce from his wife. A little while after this, Jamie and David decided to give an off ice relationship a try. Although there is no certain date that has ever been quoted, the relationship has been going strong for at least 4 years now.  David has also mention he would like to have children with Jamie, so who knows what the future may hold for this magical pair.
