I grew up in a small suburb of Columbus, Ohio.  I lived 12 years in Hilliard, and graduated from high school in 1999.  I was the first graduating class of my high school.  My main sports were gymnastics and ice skating, but also liked to swim, dive, color guard and winter guard.  I began gymnastics when I was 4 years old and did it on and off until I was 20.  Ice skating, I began when I was 12 years old and recently quit last year after a severe sprain to my ankle.  I am still and avid fan of the sports, and attended last summer the World Championships for gymnastics, where the US women took home the team gold, and I attended Stars on Ice this past March in Raleigh.

My Ice Skating History

In the winter of 1993, we had a pretty bad ice and snow storm hit before the new year.  My best friend asked if I had ever ice skated before, and I said no.  I had learned how to rollar blade in gym class the year before, and she said it was just like that.  My driveway was a sheet of ice, and so I first learned on one skate and then graduated to two skates.  From that moment on, I loved the sport of ice skating.  My first memory of watching skating was the 1994 Olympics.  One of the first pairs I watched was Jenni Meno and Todd Sand.  I still pull out my tapes from those Olympics and even saw Jamie and Jason Turner on there, along with Elena Berezhnaya and Oleg.  I was hooked to the sport and got to see Stars on Ice the first time in 1995.  I remember bugging the security guy to hand our stuff to the skaters, and eventually we got to hand them the stuff ourselves.  Soon after that, I got a response back from Kurt Browning about the thank you card I gave all the cast.  I still have it till this day.  I took lessons and soon was doing pair skating.  I really wanted to do dance, but the coaches wanted me to do pairs cause I was short.  I soon got over my fear of heights, but its still kind of there.  I got to Junior Novice in both pairs and singles.  Doing gymnastics and ice skating helped me in doing both sports.  Made twisting in gymnastics come easy, and the jumps in ice skating and the twists.  This year's Stars on Ice, was the best yet!  I am looking forward to next year's show.
Jamie and David

These two are just a magical pair. They are so nice and really down to earth.  They always have a surprise up their sleeve.  Never cesase to amaze me with their skating.  The first time I really remember watching them was at 2001 Worlds, and loving their long program.   I was happy when they brought back "Love Story" because that is my favorite program of their's and to see them end their amateur career with a stunning Olympic performance, it was just magical.  I wish them nothing but the best.  I will continue to watch them as long as they skate, no doubt about it! :)
