______________

Passion is a disease that lies barren in the heart. When unearthed the consequences can be grave. Passion is dangerous in the wrong hands and can lead to horrible acts. Passion can be malicious. For so long he tried to deny it. For so long, he tried not to watch her, to listen to her, to want her. But his passion for her overrode logic. His passion made him do something he couldn't change and she suffered. God, how she suffered.

Lucky Spencer sat in his padded cell clutching her photo, clinging to the memories. How had it happened? How had he gotten so out of control?

The guard opened the door and the light streamed through. He blinked, getting his first taste of sunlight in years.

"It's time to go." The guard rasped in a low growl. The man before him made him sick and he wanted the break the kids neck.

--------------------------------

Elizabeth stared out at the water from the balcony. The light glinted off the water like a thousand diamonds. Her eyes strained as she watched a father playing with his son. It was a beautiful sight.

"Elizabeth," Sonny said quietly. "It's time to go."

Elizabeth looked up unaware of Sonny's presence until he spoke. "What?"

"It's time to go, sweetie." He held out his hand and she accepted. They walked out the door and onto the elevator where Max waited. "Take us down Max, and make sure Johnny's brought the car around."

"Sure thing." Max produced his cell phone from his suit jacket and called Johnny to make sure everything was in place.

"Are you all right?" Sonny whispered when he noticed the goose bumps on Elizabeth's skin.

"Oh, I'm fine." She said, waving her hand in the air absently.

"You don't have to do this you know."

"Yes, I do." She said firmly.

When they reached the lobby they were swarmed by the media.

"Miss Webber how does it feel knowing your rapist is being put to death today?" One man called out.

"Do you forgive Lucky Spencer?" A blonde woman questioned.

News crews formed a circle around her and Max and Sonny had to carry her to the car to escape them.

Sonny leaned over and whispered to Max, "she seems shaken, if anything goes wrong, you get her out of there."

"Of course." The large man reassured Sonny. All the guards were protective of Elizabeth and most loved her like a sister.

In the back of the limo, Elizabeth's face was ashen. Her heart was beating so fast and her hands were shaking when she went to take a sip of water.

She was thankful to be alone though, she didn't think she could stand to have Sonny stare at her the way he always did, like at any moment she was going to break.

"I can do this." She whispered to herself, grabbing the small travel-sized bottle of gin and uncapping it. She consumed the clear liquid in a single gulp and put the empty plastic in her purse. She could do this.

She remembered that night like it was yesterday.

***************************

Lucky Spencer approached her and she gave him a small smile. She knew he had a crush on her, but she was with Jason and that's the only person she wanted. "Hey Lucky."

"Elizabeth." He smiled and handed her a single white rose. "Happy Valentines Day!" His eyes danced as she took the flower and smelled it.

"Thanks Lucky. It's really thoughtful of you."

"Do you have plans tonight? Because if you don't, I was think you might like to go with me-"

Elizabeth cut him off. "Lucky, you know I'm with Jason. I have plans with him."

"Of course." He said sharply. He turned and walked briskly out of Kelly's bumping heavily into Jason Morgan who barely moved.

"Watch it!" Jason warned and sent Lucky a dangerous glare. Lucky shrivelled and walked away with his head bent. Jason hated Lucky and always sensed there was something wrong with him.

"Jason." Elizabeth came around the counter, dropping the rose to the ground and wrapped her arms around him. "You're late." She pouted.

"I know. Forgive me?" He begged, showing off his best puppy dog face. Elizabeth was a sucker for it and gave him and quick kiss on the lips.

"Always."

"You ready?" Jason asked, grabbing her coat from the rack at the entrance. Elizabeth nodded and allowed him to help her with it

"So where are we going?"

"Nowhere"

"Fast!" She laughed.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and escorted her out of the diner.

Lucky watched from the window, trying unsuccessfully to contain his temper. Going back inside, he picked up the rose and crushed it between his fingers. "You'll pay." He vowed.

Elizabeth jumped off the bike and screamed. "I love that bike!"

Jason laughed and pulled her to him. "And you love it even more when I let you drive."

"Exactly. Thank you, Jason." She rested her head against his chest and sighed when she felt the strong beat of his heart through his leather jacket and tee shirt.

She lifted her head and looked deep into his eyes. Cupping her cheek Jason drew her face towards his and said, "Happy Valentine's Elizabeth." His lips came down on her in a feather light touch that was both sexy and sweet. She sighed and relaxed into the kiss until it became intense and she had to pull back. When she moved away, he shifted to the column of her throat kissing and nipping down ward. He reached the slope of her breast and found her creamy skin soft under his tongue. His breathing became erratic and Elizabeth too was beginning to lose control. "Jason." She moaned and pulled his head deeper into her cleavage.

His mouth stopped roaming and his hands stopped cupping instead they were clinging and Elizabeth looked up. "Jason, what's-" she stopped cold. Her hands found the side of his face and moved to the base of his neck, he felt cold and sticky and when she drew her hand back she found crimson blood.

"Jason!" She shouted, but it was too late, he was tumbling to the ground.

She kneeled next to him and touched his head. There was blood, so much blood and it was everywhere.

Her finger dipped into his skin. A bullet hole. How had she not heard the shot? Who had done it?

"Someone help!" She screamed as she clung to her bleeding lover and soul mate. "Someone help me, please!" She cried. And then someone was there in the shadows. She looked up and her heart began to pound. Her first instinct was to run, but not without Jason. She couldn't leave him.

"Who are you? What do you want? I don't know anything." She sobbed thinking it was one of Jason's business associates, but when Lucky Spenser came out of the dark, she knew something was very wrong and about to get worse.

She stood, started to run, but he was quicker and dragged her down to the ground knocking her out.

The next thing she remember was waking up watching as Jason hit Lucky so hard he ripped his jaw apart. He kicked and punched until the little maggot was barely breathing and then he came next to her.

"I'm so sorry." Jason said softly, cupping her head as he crawled next to her on the dirty ground. She saw the tears shining in his eyes as he tried to cover her up with his blood soaked jacket using up all his strength until he finally passed out. Elizabeth heard the sound of sirens in the distance as she began to lose consciousness again.

************

Elizabeth shuttered. Lucky Spencer had ruined her life in more ways than one.

Lucky was handcuffed and shackled at the feet. The walk down the hall was slow and he felt his knees shaking. He wasn't scared to die. He wanted it. He yearned for it. Ever since he had meet Elizabeth, something had snapped inside him. Everything that was once good had turned into hate. He didn't hate Elizabeth, in fact he loved her. Loved her too much. He let himself be taken over by the need for her until she was all he could see and she was all he wanted. He'd taken her. He knew she didn't want him. Knew she was so in love with Jason Morgan she couldn't see straight but that hadn't stopped him. Her cries and pleas hadn't stopped him. Nothing had.

They reached the room with sobbing mourners who came to watch him die. In the corner, he could see his father and mother weeping for him, for his diseases soul.

They sat him down and strapped him to the table, rolled up his sleeve and wiped his arm with iodine.

__________

The car stopped and Elizabeth felt like she couldn't breath anymore. She had waited for this moment for almost three years and the day had finally come. After today she would be free. She stepped onto the street a little unsteady on her feet, from the drink and the heels. Max took her arm and helped her out. "Do you want me to come with you?" He asked softly, his eyes downcast.

"No Max, I'll be fine. I need to do this alone."

"Okay. I'll be here waiting."

"Thanks." She gave him her best smile. It had been so long since she really smiled, so long since she felt a reason to. After today though, everything would change.

The clanging of her heels in the narrow hallway was the only sound she heard and it was magnified ten fold in the small space.

She reached the desk, asked for directions and walked with the guard into the room.

_____________

"Lucky Spencer, you have been ordered by the courts to die today at two p.m., may God have mercy on your soul."

The needle pricked his vein and he jerked in response. The tears in the room began to slow as did Lucky's breathing. It only took a few minutes and then he was dead.

________

Elizabeth watched from the big glass window. A single tear slipped down her face and she wiped it away. They removed the handcuffs and handed him his bags. "You're free to go." The officer told Jason. He smiled when he caught sight of her and had to contain himself so he wouldn't take off running towards her and startle the guards.

The guard pressed the button and the doors unlocked. Jason stepped out and dropped his bags, taking her in his arms when she ran toward him. "Elizabeth." He said in a shaky breath. There were so many things he had to say. So much time they had to make up for. He hated that she had to go through this alone; that after the rape he'd been hauled away and thrown in jail for almost killing the little shit, Lucky.

She relaxed against him. God, how she'd missed those arms, the smell of him, those eyes. Elizabeth squeezed him as tight as she could until she felt the tension slip away form his body. She knew he was sorry, knew that he hated having to be away from her and that he'd finally given Taggert an excuse to lock him up and she forgave him long ago.

Jason looked down at her with eyes faintly damp and obviously concerned. She knew what he was going to say, so she stopped him with a soft kiss.

They walked together arm in arm towards the limo and Jason nodded to Max when they got close enough and waved to Johnny who was still in the drivers seat.

"It's good to see you Mr. Morgan." Max offered, holding out his hand to shake with Jason.

"Thanks Max."

Elizabeth was so quiet Jason was scared. She was curled against him in the back of the limo as they made their way back to the penthouse.

Jason tipped her chin and smiled down at her. "What's wrong?" He whispered.

She sat up suddenly as if she'd forgotten where she was. "What time is it?"

"Just past two p.m." He told her. "Why?"

"Nothing wrong. Not anymore. One soul has just been cured." Elizabeth told him and she smiled, really smiled.

Jason looked at her curiously and shook his head, pulling her closer.

Ok so I have no idea where that came from. What did you think?
