11-27-03: Happy Thanksgiving! Yesterday, 11/26, NWS hi=42@1543{farm=39.2@1500}, lo=28@0741{farm= 24.3@0700}. 59% possible sunshine (PPS); overcast to partly sunny; warm afternoon with south breeze.
11-28-03: Yesteray, 11/27, NWS hi=50@1508{farm=46.6@1400}, lo=27@0645{farm=26.9@0700}. 64% of possible sunshine; sunny morning and early afternoon but clouds increasing late; rain on the way.
11-29-03: Yesterday, 11/28, NWS hi=61@1953{farm=56.6@2100}, lo=44@0214{farm=40.5@0100}. No sun- shine at all; dark day with rain most of the time; 0.03" rain on the 27th before midnight and 0.60" on 28th.
11-30-03: Yesterday, 11/29, NWS hi=53@0005{farm=44.1@0100}, lo=33@1636{farm=27.7@1500}. Note the vagaries in the high/low temps and times. Very windy with snow squalls 0900-1500; 1" of snow; winterlike day.
12-1-03: Yesterday, 11/30, NWS hi=42@1704{farm=36.9@1500}, lo=35@2124{farm=27.4@2300}. Overcast, warm, no wind; would have been very pleasant had there been some brightness.
12-2-03: Yesterday, 12/1, NWS hi=45@0630{farm=43.6@0600}, lo=29@2256{farm=26.6@2300}. Note time of high temp; cold air invaded steadily all day. Snow squalls 0900-1100; windy all day; clearing late afternoon=COLD
12-3-03: Today, the entire pond was frozen over for the first time this fall. Yesterday, 12/2, NWS hi =32@0103{farm=27.7@0100}, lo=14@2400{farm=8.3@2400}. 1 1/2" snow on the ground at 0600- L.Ontario squall, with a few more snow showers until 0800; NWS average temperature was 10 degrees below normal.
12-4-03: Yesterday, 12/3, NWS hi=24@1526{farm=21.1@1300}, lo=11@0738{farm=6.7@0400}. PPS=100 for a glorious blue sky day, but COLD. Normal avg temp at Albany is now down to 32, with the lowest in early Feb. . 12-5-03: Yesterday, 12/4, NWS hi=35@1458{farm=30.9@1400}, lo=14@0032{farm=11.9@2400}. Only 2% of possible sunshine; obviously overcast day; little wind; comfortable afternoon; clearing late and starry night-cold.
12-6-03 Yesterday, 12/5, NWS hi=24{farm=21.7@1500}, lo=13{farm=8.1@0700}. Sunny AM; cldg up in PM.

12-8-03: Yesterday, 12/7, NWS hi=26@1458{farm=25.0@1500}, lo=18@0730{farm=15.4@0900}. 5.5" additional snow before storm ended; fortunately very little water content; heavier total amounts to south and east.
12-9-03: Today is the start of "meteorological winter," the 91 days with normally the coldest weather. Yesterday, 12/8, NWS hi=31@1529{farm=28.7@1500}, lo=11@2328{10.2@0600}. 89 PPS; cold AM; comfy PM with no wind; gorgeous pale orange full moon rise in the ENE about 1700; clear, cold night.
12-10-03: Yesterday, 12/9, NWS hi=26 @2333{farm=24.3@1500}, lo=8@0218(farm=8.6@0600}. No sun; no wind; quite high relative humidity and the high of 24 at the farm made for a "raw" afterrnoon.
12-11-03: Yesterday, 12/10, NWS hi=43@2400{farm=38.8@2000}, lo=25@0036{farm=22.0@0100. 5PPS; hvy overcast; no wind; odd times for high and low temps; two "lows" approaching the northeast with heavy rain due.
12-12-03: Yesterday, 12/11, NWS hi=50@1011{farm=44.1@1300}, lo=36@2400{farm=32.1@2300}. No sunshine, with light to moderate rain from mid-morning until 1800; total rainfall at Albany & the farm = 0.87". [Since the 8th, the sun has been setting at its earliest for Albany- 1621 hrs. Sunrise is still moving later, thus the continuation of ever shortening days for another week or so. Changes will be subsequently noted.]
12-13-03: Today, the sun begins setting later, at 1622. [See note for the 12th above.] Yesterday, 12/12, NWS hi=36@1424{farm=33.3@1200}, lo=25@2400{farm=21.2@2400}. 46% possible sunshine (PPS); windy, cold day outdoors; sunny AM and early PM, however. [Runoff from the pond very high from rain&snowmelt on 11th]
12-14-03: Yesterday, 12/13, NWS hi=27@1424{farm=25.1@1400}, lo=15@2400{farm=9.5@2400}. 100% sun- shine; somewhat windy, adding to the chill temperature; big "high" over eastern Canada provided "beautiful" day.
12-15-03: Yesterday, 12/14, NWS hi=24@2400{farm=22.2@2400}, lo=14@0425{farm=9.3@0100}. Snow began 1145hrs and continued steadily but not heavily into the night; E wind from coastal storm.
12-16-03:Yesterday, 12/15, NWS hi=32@1054{farm=28.0@1100}, lo=24@0220@2400}. Snow storm ended early AM with 9.5" at the farm; Albany airport NWS station had 7.5"; afternoon cleared slowly for clear night.
12-17-03: Yesterday, 13/16, NWS hi=37@2323{farm=31.1@1400}, lo=14@0724{farm=14.4@0600}. 69% of possible sunshine (PPS); south wind; pleasant afternoon after chill AM; clr night N/NE , but cloud shield to S/SW.
12-18-03: Yesterday, 12/17, NWS hi=39@0931{farm=36.2@1200}, lo=31@2400{farm=23.5@0100}. Rain from 0800 until 1515, when snow began; temperature dropped slowly all day; miserable day!
12-19-03: Yesterday, 12/18, NWS hi=35@1254{farm=29.4@1300}, lo=28@2357{farm=24.4@2400}. 5" wet sn on everything at 0600; yesterday's rain + snow = 0.98" H2O; a few "lake effect" snow showers during day;windy
12-20-03: Yesterday, 12/19, NWS hi=33@1506{farm=28.6@1400}, lo=20@0802{farm=14.9@0600}. 49% pos- sible sunshine; some wind; OK day for December.
