Hamilton/CCA is a joke

Read the latest post on cyclingnews.com for info on Hamilton. Let's see, they've had how many years to prepare for the race? And now the city council claims that there are dollar amounts that they were not informed of, and as a result they may cancel the race?
Yes, that will put Canada on the world cycling map. Not only will this inept effort cost Canada another shot at hosting the worlds for about another quarter century, but will the Tour de France organizers want to come to Quebec (as has been reported)? What about the Commonwealth Games?
Events like the Road World Champs, and the Olympics, are supposed to increase tourism and help boost the local economy for years to come; instead, through mismanagement, apathy, and short-sightedness, we look like what we are: amateurs.
Can you imagine complaining that between 250,000 and 500,000 people will be walking by your business, and you don't want that??? Why would you not be putting up banners on the fences advertising your company, and offering a sale to tie in with the event? What about offering cars for marshalling and event management? How typically Canadian, and how sad.
