Local recipe for your Tongkol rig:
60-80lbs 49-strands wire leader, size 12/0 x3 treble hooks, pliers and
cutter.
First, cut about 4-5feet of the leader
to make a loop (for the double) of about 2 feet with an overhead knot.
Slide down the treble hook into the
double.
Tie the second treble with an overhand
knot.
Thread the end of the wire through the
fishing gill.
Using a single strand wire, tie the
fish's mouth to the wire leader. This is important to prevent the fish from
spoiling due to water resistance during trolling
Straighten the wire and embed the
treble hook, one behind the gill and one at the tail. (It can be modified by
using single treble hook or just single hook size 4/0 or 5/0. Please note
that using treble hook on fish bait is not allowed under IGFA
fishing rules)
