Let me share with you the joy of loving Greyhounds. The racing Greyhound, whose heart and spirit are unmatched, in their quest of the run. The retired Greyhound, a loving, warm companion who will steal your heart and brighten your days. |
I have had the pleasure of working with Greyhounds since 1995 and still am in awe of their muscular form. You see, Greyhounds have very little body fat, which gives them the appearance you might mistake for "skinny". They are strong, beautifully honed athletes, who run with grace and a fluid motion that can be breathless to watch. Greyhounds can reach speeds of 45 mph, covering 5/16's of a mile in an average 31 seconds. Bee Lite and Oshkosh Waldo took my breath away with this performance in the 1995 Great American Greyhound Futurity. |
The racing kennel houses about 60 Greyhounds, each possessing a unique personality. ADAM smiles...RILEY likes gummy bears and watches TV...ALPO loves you so much he won't leave your side (and you don't want him to). These hounds are like an extended family, you love them and care for them, keep them strong and healthy and are rewarded by the affection that makes this breed so SPECIAL. All 60 of these hounds will always be special to me. |
