The buildings he photographs are the best in American design, Paul R. Williams was a mentor of his.

He triumphs in 3-D twice here by diagonal angles and planes that carry the details back to the far wall (“Dimy’s”, Long Beach, CA, Architects: Armet & Davis, and “Kitchen of Tomorrow”, Motorama, Pan-Pacific Auditorium, both 1956). This is exactly comparable with the best 3-D photography of the Eames Office.

 Another great photographer, Julius Shulman, has been called into comparison, and the comparison is apt.
