.....
I am solemn in the wake of this heartbreaking tragedy. ..... However, my confidence level has not been shaken. I do not live in fear. And I refuse to. I am angered at the audacity of this faceless, cowardly enemy. Not only for the damage that was done and the lives that were affected and lost, but at the very thought that this act would break down the American spirit. ..... My heart goes out to the family and the friends of our fallen "soldiers." They were unknowingly on the front lines of the first battle of the first war of the 21st century. Their deaths will not be in vain and they will not be forgotten. ..... I commend the dedication and perseverance of the fire fighters, the police, the emergency medical teams, and the volunteers that work tirelessly, around the clock, through the worst of conditions, in the face of the worst of humanity, at great personal risk, dealing with a reality so tragic it is unspeakable. You are a shining light in the darkest of nights, brilliant and beautiful. ..... For those that have paid the ultimate price in their devotion to the search and rescue of others, your light has not gone out. It now burns brighter and more magnificent. We will not forget you, nor ever let that light dim. You are the truest of heroes. ..... I hold in the highest regard the President of the United States of America, George Walker Bush, and his administration. I have great confidence that the right decisions will be made and the right actions will be taken, and that these things will happen in the appropriate time frame. May God bestow His wisdom upon, and a hedge of protection around, our President. ..... I understand the implications of what has happened and what will have to happened. I understand that our lives will never be the same again. I understand that this generation will be faced with even more harsh reality that we are unaccustomed to. I understand that some of us will have to pay the ultimate price. I understand that in the wake of that additional loss, more lives will be heartbreakingly devastated. I understand that what must be done paints a very bleak picture. ..... However, there are other things I understand as well. I understand, that despite all the problems and inner conflicts, America is a beautiful place to live. I understand that deep tragedy brings out our true colors and I see a beautiful people in America today. I understand that we may lose battles but that we will not lose the war. I understand that you have to stand up for what you believe in. I understand that our freedom was purchased at a very high price and that we were given an example of what it takes to preserve that freedom regardless of the cost. I understand that being an American is an honor not to be taken lightly or carelessly. I understand that evil exists in our world, but that good overcomes evil. I understand that what some meant for evil, God can use for good. ..... I am but one simple American, one small voice. I cannot speak for anyone except myself, yet at the same time I cannot remain silent. ..... Christina

Let
every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill,
that we shall pay any price, bear any burden,
meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe,
