HOMER'S STORY
Homer was rescued from a dog pound . Animal Control found him wandering the streets, starved ,sunburned , dehydrated and sick. He came here to Sister's Haven on July 5th ,2000. Homer could not even walk when he first came here, he had to be carried out to go potty. We hand fed him yogurt and soft food . Homer was taken to our vet the next day and it was found that Homer was 7 months old and weigh 20Lb , he had ulcers in his mouth and all over his body from the sunburn he had. Dr. gave Homer a couple of shots to help him and in a few days he started to improve.. He still needed to be hand fed , night and day. With in a week he was walking and not long after he started to be more like a dog. Homer fell in love with the two human girls here Charlene 11 and Kimberly 8  at Sister's Haven and they spent lots of time together playing. There favorite game to play was Hide-N-Seek .After all the other animals here were taken care of  we would all go play with Homer it was so wonderful to see his improvements We called it Homer Time...It wasn't long after Homer came here that we knew he had a hearing problem. I knew I had to find just the right family for our Homer, so the search began I listed him on our Petfinder's web page and had many families interested in Homer... The perfect family for Homer would have Children (he loves kids) have a fenced yard , be home with him and be financially able to afford his care . also be willing to come and do a few visits with Homer before adoption..
The perfect family was found......
