A little Over 40 years ago, a 17 year old Form 5 student, took the student population of Kings college by Storm. It happened during the debate on who was to become the Secretary of the revived Student's council. That 17 year old student was Claude Ake. Ake lunched himself into that campaign, with his memorable slogan "RADICALISM".
At the tender age of 17, Claude Ake was advocating a radical approach in the affairs of the Student council. How precocious! Most Students didn't even know what radicalism meant in those pre Independence days. Radicalism became the buzzword of that election which Ake won and Radicalism became on of his nicknames forever.
Claude Ake went on to develop physically and emotionally, typifying most of the qualities that the school was created to promote and which any parent would be proud of;- assiduous application of intelligence, sportsmanship, initiative and leadership.
He was not a "bookworm". He was a member of the track and field team where he won full colors and was captain of the Boxing Team.
