StMartins school of Art alongside other 80's Blitz
Kids and immediately had his baroque graduate
collection of purple velvets and satins on Pete Burns
(Youthquake), David Bowie (Blue Jean)and Steve
Strange(opening of an envelope!). Heralded as one of
the new 80's London fashion elite with Bodymap, John
Crancher and John Galliano, Dean set up business with
longtime friend Pearl (corseter) as PEARL & DEAN.
Selling his designs to some of the chicest shops in
London and New York, they separated in the late 80's
leaving Dean to utilise his expert tailoring for
further commissions from Boy George, Dead or Alive and
Erasure amongst others.
Having always been a 'discodiva' at heart, Dean can
also be found out and about as his alter-ego 'Deana'
strutting the stage on tour with Dead or Alive and
more recently Massive Ego.
