BOY GEORGE BY JUDY BLAME |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Helen suggested I check out her designer mat Chis Barnes, an old club freak who was making a new name for himself as an avant-garde jeweller and stylist. Chris worked under the name Judy Blame. He was nicknamed after Judy Garland, but he didn't look much like her with his Mohican haido. It was more his liking for pills and champagne, which often took him somewhere over the rainbow I went over to Judy's workshop in Olds Street and picked out several pieces of garish gold neck jewellery, and a pair of razzledazzled earings. Five minutes before we went on air I still couldn't decide which necklace to wear, so I wore them all. Judy roared when he saw my picture in the newspapers the next day.
