Aimee- Woodstock NY, arrived in NYC in 1999
Drew- I am from a small town called Bloomington, Indiana. I am from the cornfields of the good ol' Midwest. I arrived in New York 5 years ago to attend NYU.
Mack Dugan-I was born in South Dakota but I grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. I moved to New York about 3 years ago.
Current occupation and/or title ?
Aimee- Studio Manager/In-house PR for Heatherette, co-hostess of parties like Erich Conrad's "Cuckoo Club" at the Maritime Hotel, "Royal Bitches" at Avalon, special Heatherette events.
D: I am the Marketing and Promotions Director at PAPER Magazine. I take care of events and marketing for the magazine.
M:I am the associate creative director of Heatherette, I help design and head -up the in-house production of our "couture" pieces.
Inspiration ?
Aimee- I am constantly inspired by my best friends, who I am lucky to say are some of the most talented and inspirational people on the planet. I wake up every morning in the hornet's nest of glitter & glamour that is Heatherette, so just when I am at the breaking point of exhaustion from last night's party, I look to Richie and Traver for salvation, which usually does the trick (plus that way I usually have that night's outfit worked out by midday!)
D: Besides Aimee and Macky, I have many things and people who inspire me. I love Stevie Nicks, Scissor Sisters, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Heatherette, Kenny Kenny, and George.
M: I'm inspired by everyone in my life. Other designers that inspire me are martin margiela, john galliano, bless, balenciaga, vivian westwood , I could go on and on. Fashion is my main inspiration , from all times. I like a lot of music from manic street preachers to marilyn manson to DJ hell.
Objective ?
Aimee- I came to New York looking for a dream life, I found it.
D: My dream is to link people together. I love nothing more than to bond talents together who I think fit. It is like creative legos. I moved to New York to go to school and then this marketing thing fell in my lap and I love it. Nightlife was always in my cards, I have gone out nearly every night that I have lived in this city that never sleeps and it is a creative lab where you meet every walk of life looking to have a good time.
M: I came to new york to work in fashion, as you can imagine it's a little hard in New Zealand. Working in nightlife was just a natural progression as I am always out and love the people , and the party of course.
Where do see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
Aimee- I always want to be blissfully happy, so my goal is always to keep that in perspective. I constantly look to women like Susanne Bartsch and Dianne Brill for inspiration and perspective on how to keep it together and stay gorgeous, happy, glamorous and influential as a woman in this crazy town.
D: Who knows, sitting in a booth with Erich Conrad having oysters at Beige. I have an idea for a fast food carrier that I think is going to allow me to retire, I'm not kidding. No, I see myself working in marketing and staying young with Aimee and Mack. I hope to have a dog and a proper couch by that time.
M: In 10 years id love to be splitting my time between the city and upstate new york. I hope that I'll still be making clothes lots and lots of beautiful clothes.
If you could give one piece of advise to someone who has aspirations of following in your footsteps what would it be?
Aimee- If you're in someone's footsteps, people can only see the person in front of you! Bulldoze your own path, blaze a trail and have fun. Wear tons of glitter!!
D: Have lots of fun with your friends and make sure you have evidence. Make sure you remember how to do the little stuff. If you can't do every part of the job then you have lost sight of things.
M: Be nice. Never loose your sense on humor and where what you want.xx mack
