FAT TONY - BIO - |

Living legend Fat Tony is one of the most popular & respected DJ's on both the gay and straight club scenes. Not only for his talent but for his unique personality and biting wit. He became one of the world's first Super DJ's in the 80's, flaunting himself in drag at fashion shows, in magazines and clubs while hanging onto the arms of the rich and famous and building a name by association!! He has continued to provide quality music on an international scale since and still holds residencies at London's premier nightclubs. A product of Boy George's Carburton st squat fraternity, Tony's career began at Steve Strange's 'Playground' at the Lyceum. Tony said how bad the music was so he was challenged to bring his records the following week. Naturally it became his first residency. This led Tony to open his own night 'Total Fashion Victim' with Stephen Linard and then with Steve Swindell at 'Jungle' in 1984/5, which became the first Garage and House night in London. Residencies at the legendary Wag, Limelight and Café de Paris merely oiled this DJ machine. From that time the list of Tony's residencies and guest sessions are just too endless to list. The majority of clubs worldwide have experienced the unforgettable presence (and acidic tongue)of Fat Tony, and although he is now based mainly in London, he still continues to spin at the clubbing capitals of the world, playing sets in Ibiza, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, Greece and Cyprus. In addition to Tony's outstanding history of club gigs, he has played at some of the biggest celebrity parties over his career spanning two decades, including Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Boy George, George Michael, Luther Vandross, Sade, Michael Jackson etc. With a list like this you can only imagine the stories Tony has to tell and the chemical filled lifestyle he has led. |
