On Saturday 29th March 2003, 40 guides and brownies descended on Bonaly campsite for the day.  The weather was kind to us so this year we stayed dry!  (Check out last year's activity day for a contrast!)

There were people there from 3 guide companies (193B guides, Dell guides and Currie guides) and 3 brownie packs (193, 193A and 193B, all from Colinton).  We divided in to 8 groups of 4 to 6 girls and each group got to do three activities from:
* grass sledges
* climbing / abseiling
* archery
* scramble room
* earthball
* craft
* woodpile (using an axe and a saw - under supervision!)

After that in our groups we collected wood, lit fires & cooked our tea on the fires (burgers, sausages, chocolate bananas or apples, and marshmallows).  There was a short campfire where we all got a glow bracelet and a souvenir badge, sang a few songs including Happy Birthday for Alison W, and Weezzum was awarded her Baden Powell Challenge Award.  Then 30 of the guides and brownies went home to leave 193B Guides to spend the night in the Baronial Hall.

Sleepover
We all laid out our beds in the hall, then went outside to play some games in the dark.  Alison M, Claire and Emma all made their promise at nearly midnight in the middle of the field, and so did Allison, one of our guiders.  After that we went to bed, and it only took a couple of hours for everyone to go to sleep!!  In the morning most of the guides had to be dragged out of bed, we cooked breakfast (bacon rolls and eggy bread) on a fire, cleared up & went home to recover!
