Roza Galieva first participated in a World event at the 1991 World Championships, where, as the youngest member of the Soviet Team, she earned a gold medal.  She competed at the 1992 Olympics and won a gold medal with the Unified Team.  She qualified for the AA finals but was replaced by teammate Tatiana Gutsu, who went on to win the AA gold, because of an "injury".  She competed at the 1993 World Championships representing Uzbekistan where she finished 10th in the AA.  She was scheduled to compete at the 1994 World Championships but a mistake in the Uzbekistan entries prevented her from participating.  She disapeared from international competition most of 1994 and 95 while she was obtaining Russian Citizenship.  She made her Russian debut in Canada and the U.S. where she placed second to Alexandra Marinescu in a Pre-Olympic event in Atlanta.  At the 1996 European Championships she won the gold medal on the balance beam.  She competed at the 1996 Olympics as a part of the silver medal winning Russian Team and participated in the AA finals and Balance Beam finals.  She has made no plans for retirement and continues to compete internationally.
