Two Unification Churches
~I always say that there are two Unification Churches. There is The Unification Church (UC) as it is presented to the public. Then there is The Unification Church as it really is. The Unification Church as presented to the public seems harmless enough. One cannot help but laud it's professed goals of strengthening family's through strict moral discipline and publicly serving the needs of humanity. But it is this second Unification Church, the one I witnessed and participated in as a member that is of concern. The reality of that church as being so completely opposed to the expressed goals of the Movement's public face is both staggering and sobering. It is sobering because one cannot help but question the mental (and moral) stability of those who so "earnestly" promote moral teachings and practices believing that the church they have sacrificed all for adheres to those morals. And simultaneously "earnestly" violate those morals and teachings without even the first notion that they in fact are doing so. It is absolutely identical to a person who says "I am one hundred percent in favor of Bill Clinton as a President." and simultaneously says "I am one hundred percent opposed to Bill Clinton as President." All the while thinking that these opposites can both be true at the same time, and finding no contradiction at all in the process. This is a perfect reflection of the daily life of Moonies. It is sad, and frightening as well because it is almost schizophrenic that a person can be so far removed from reality that though they are fully aware that public statements and private actions are in opposition to one another, they see themselves as honest when portraying either statement as "true". To most of us it is clear that if there are two opposed statements concerning a certain matter, and one were true, then the other would have to be false. Not to a Moonie. Paradoxically, both can be true, and the impetus is Moon. Moon can say absolutely contradictory things, and a member will accept both as true without questioning him at all. That my friend is a frightening prospect, and you will see more of what I mean in articles I've written critiquing Moon's theology.
Jesus Life Was A Failure
~Publicly, any Moonie will tell you that he believes that Jesus Christ was The Son of God. That He was divine, that he was the Savior and Messiah. They will profess the utmost love and respect for Jesus' sacrificial life and death. They will tell you that Jesus offers man spiritual salvation and that if you believe in Him you can partake in that gift. A Christian who didn't know how to follow through by asking the right questions could very well think he was among "brethren" and if he had previously believed that the UC was a heretical cult he may now find himself in real confusion after hearing the previous statements. Some members even believe that it was in fact Jesus Himself who spiritually guided them into the movement. I don't believe that to be the case for one moment, because all the previous statements that members make concerning Jesus (when talking with outsiders) become insincere when compared with Moon's actual teachings about Jesus, and the Bible's own guidelines for who Jesus is and how we are to respond to Him.
~What do Moonies believe about Jesus? The Moonies believe that Jesus was the son of God but could not enter heaven without receiving first the "Marriage Blessing" from Moon. Moonies teach that you must be married before you can go to Heaven, and of course Jesus died never having been married, so He did not go to Heaven (although the Bible clearly says He did), but instead, Moonies teach that He went to "Paradise", which they claim is not Heaven at all, but a lower spiritual realm than Heaven. Since Moon became the Messiah, however, to help Jesus could go to Heaven, Moon married Jesus to an oriental member of Moon's church. She lives and is known to the members as Jesus' wife. This is not well known to non-members. I am aware of it because I was a member in good standing and very close to Moon personally for a number of years. The greater portion of members who have been in more than a few years are aware of this fact. To understand more about this marriage blessing and it's fallacies read my critique of "Mass Marriages-The Blessing" where this information is detailed. Many so-called Christian leaders have taken money from Moon in the form of speaking fees and numerous other activities in which they participate with his church. This is abhorrent. Moon is an Antichrist. Quite simply, anyone who says they are the Christ when they are not would fit this description. Thankfully, a Christian who reads the Bible would be able to avoid Moon's lies with one simple verse. Jesus warned about false Christs that would come in the last days nearly two thousand years ago:
Matthew 24:23
"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not."
|
~That is a stern admonition and leaves no room for mistakes. Jesus said "If any man..." shall say that the Christ is here or anywhere, we are not to believe them. Period. What few members consider (most don't even know about this verse) is that to follow Moon they actually have to disobey Jesus' instruction. That is a serious matter for people who say they "believe" in Jesus. Clearly they really don't believe in Jesus. Jesus is called a "Victor" in the Bible. He said that He had in fact "Overcome the world", that He saw "Satan fall like lightning from Heaven" after the good reports from the disciples who He had sent out to spread the gospel. If you read the Bible without a Moonie present, Jesus is never portrayed as anything less than a great victor ! The Son of God who conquered death and sin ! And if a Moonie was talking with a Christian, they would say the same thing. But not when talking to other members.
~Privately, Moon has said, and this is a direct quote "Therefore we can say that Jesus life was a failure..." That is the moonies' "secret" view of Jesus. Jesus was a failure. Moonies will deny this, but those were Moon's words right there saying so. Moonies will say "But it wasn't Jesus fault, he had no support from his family or John the Baptist, that's why he couldn't succeed, not because of His own doing." Alas, it is true that this view is taught in the UC, but recalling the schizophrenic nature of this movement, they also teach (I learned this myself in the forty day training in New York) that Jesus didn't love John the Baptist enough, and that is why John didn't follow Him. This is not a unique situation, but in circumstance after circumstance, Moonies are speaking out of both sides of their mouths, and believing they are being honest all the while. It is frightening.
~Now, further evidence of Moon's absolute lack of veneration to Jesus lies in several other statements he made. Moon had a son who died in a tragic car accident. He had been engaged to be married, but died before this could take place. Moon married his son (in the spiritual world) to this girl, who lives even today as Moon's daughter in law, presumably waiting for the day she too passes into death to join her husband. Since marrying his son (after death) Moon has proclaimed that his son is in charge of the entire spiritual world and that even Jesus bows down to and serves Moon's son. Not only does this fly in the face of Christians everywhere, but it even contradicts Moon's own teaching that because of his own victories, the birthright has been restored. In other words, Moon teaches that the elder brother must serve the younger brother, rather than traditionally how the elder receives the greater inheritance and also the position of authority in the family after the father has passed on. Moon says this is reversed because of the fall of Adam and Eve, but now that he has come as the new Messiah, he says it has been restored. Why then should Jesus, whom even Moonies call their "elder brother" serve Moon's young son. Both Jesus and Moon's son had died before getting married, and both were married in the spiritual world after death (only according to Moon's far fetched philosophy of course). They were in equal circumstances except that Jesus died on a cross to save humanity, where Moon's son simply hit a truck head on with friends in a car accident, according to Moon's daughter-in-law, when they were coming home from a night of bar-hopping! Moon's son is lauded as a hero who died no less an important and world changing death as Jesus Christ did. But here is Moon teaching, first the heretical doctrine that Jesus is married to a physical Unification Church member, and then the equally heretical teaching that Jesus is bowing down in the spiritual world to Moon's deceased son. Absolute blasphemy, and even a contradiction of Moon's own philosophies. We can begin to see that truth is irrelevant. It is only Moon and his "true family" that matter. God must take a back seat.
Moon's Son Reincarnated
& Moon's Alleged Spiritual Powers
~As mentioned above, Moon's son is held up as Lord of the spiritual world. He seems not content to have just been in the spiritual world however, and has also has made an appearance on the Earth after his death. Quite a few years back, Moon's dead Korean son was said to have been reincarnated into an African named "Cloephas". This person was a physically strong individual who went around , apparently with Moon's acceptance, and literally beat people up for their sins. He punched them and kicked them and put at least one or two into the hospital. If I am not mistaken , one member sued over his own injuries. Bo Hi Pak, who has been Moon's trusted right hand man almost since the beginning was beaten by this individual so badly that he is reported to have suffered brain damage from the beating. This stands in stark contrast to the peaceful world the Unificationists claim to be creating. I am reminded of the Vietnam War Captain who said "We had to kill the city to save it".
~Nevertheless, there are several other questions that demand explanation. One is: If Moon is the victor of the spiritual world, that he says he is, if he so easily travels through the spiritual world as he says he does, conversing with whatever dead person he wants to. Then why on Earth does he send a trusted leader on an AIRPLANE to ask this African if he was really Moon's dead son? Why couldn't Moon go himself into the spiritual world and ask his own son: "Son, did you reincarnate into this African person?". This question is very serious as well, for members to ask, because it is Moon's contention that all people in the world are supposed to be spiritually open and able to converse with their dead relatives. Moon claims that because of the fall of mankind, this ability was lost for most people. Moon says that as people grow spiritually to be like him, they will be able to converse with spirits as easily as he does. He claims that death would not be a sad thing as people learn to communicate with their deceased relatives. This in fact, is one of the strong promises and selling points as laid out in "The Principle of Creation" one of the lectures on Moon's teaching. So why is it that Moon, as the prime example of spiritual fortitude is not able to question his son himself, but sends people on an airplane with some questions to ask his son, to see if it really is his son, and then must wait several days for the answer. This is inconsistent with Moon's own proclamations and philosophies. Indeed, inconsistency and contradiction are the rule in the Moonies and not the exception. And interestingly, it is supposed to be the Christians according to Moon's members that have the half-truths and contradictions! If you are a member of this group, ask yourself why there are no legitimate answers to so many of these questions.
