RESOLUTION IN REFERENCE TO THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (F.B.I) AND THE RELEASE OF WARRANTS WITHIN SOUTH DAKOTA WHEREAS, this morning in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Interior Secretary James Watt announced the release, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, of twenty-eight warrants within South Dakota for persons charged with killing bald eagles, and WHEREAS, the sudden appearance of numbers of FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Reservation has in the past, resulted in conflict and, sometimes, bloodshed, and WHEREAS, the Oglala Sioux Tribe, in order to protect their powers to regulate the domestic relations among OST members, and to protect sovereign interests in the area of law enforcement, does hereby choose to have the OST Public Safety Commission keep apprised in this specific matter, now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Oglala Sioux Tribe request the Regional Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to inform the Public Safety Executive Director and the OST Executive Committee before FBI appearance on the Pine Ridge Reservation on this matter.
