Welcome to the Cactrot Page. We are Cactrots, or Cactuars if you call us by that name given to us in Final Fantasy 8. Or you can also call me by our Japanese name Sabotender. Most people believe we are merely enemies in the Final Fantasy games to be beaten and who simply deal out 1000 points of damage in one turn. But we are so much more than that. Come learn of our colorful history and see that we mean no harm.

 

We cactrots are generally a peaceful bunch. Occasionally some small band of heroes, usually 4 or less, would attack us. Other than those brief stints Cactrots have always been around doing this, that and the other. Recently, however, our society has been surprised by the uprising of evil cactrots! These brothers of ours would have us use our powers of a thousand needles to destroy humanity! But have no fear humans we will not allow the evil cactrots to do such horrible things.

 

A brief history of the Cactrot Race
It all started when a game programmer thought a cactus-like enemy would be cute for the newest Final Fantasy game. And from then on we had Cactrot. Of course this isn't all of the story; this game programmer worked for the legendary giant known as Squaresoft Gaming Corporation together with the infamous behemoth Nintendo. Together these beings gave birth to the first ever Cactrot! These little guys were given 1000 point damage attacks to defend themselves and an unimaginable evade to not get hit. However, all was not good for our Cactrots for the powers that be decided to make our little guys a treasure for gamers! The imbedded each tiny, cute, little guys with a whopping 10 magic points! (magic points were needed to learn magic from Espers) Now gamers would have to search Hoover-filled deserts for little green cactus men to learn all their spells! This spelled disaster for our little green companions. But thanks to efforts of the CACTROT ADOPTION AGENCY many cactrots have been saved.
