NO-FUSS Baby Booties

Materials:
About 1 oz soft worsted weight yarn
Aluminun size D or any other size
Printed Pattern :)
*Note: there is no guage as these can be made as big or little as needed. Although, the average size for newborn's feet is 3 1/2"
1. Ch 22. (for 3 1/2" sole) or length of foot
2. DC in third ch from hk and across. Ch 3, Turn.
*Repeat step 2 until work can wrap up to widest part of foot, covering it. DO NOT FINISH OFF
Next Row. Fold in half (as shown in picture) and sl st around toe hole skipping every 2 rows. Join w/other slip st and seam along "top of foot" leaving enough room for the leg hole (approx: 1 1/2). Now bind off and sl st seam along back heel. ('sewing up the back') W/O binding off, turn boot inside out. Actually this will now be the right side.
Choose ONE
GIRLS (Ruffle): (shown)- *Ch 3, Dc all the way around leg hole, Join. Rep * again. Join w/ sl st in top of ch 3. ch 1, sc in same st.* 2 Dc in next st, hdc and sc in next st. Rep from * around Finish off.
BOYS (Cuff): *Ch 3. Dc around. join with sl/st in top of Ch 3. Repeat from * for 5 rows. Fold down cuff.
Note: if for some reason, your's looks like it won't stay on, just chain a chain about 5 in and weave through Dc of ruffle and tie.
RIBBING (use 1 size smaller hook):
1. Ch 3. DC around. JOIN.
*Ch 3 (counts as first BackPost(BP)), Front post(FP) around next dc of previous row. Continue in BP,FP pattern around. Join.
Row 2-4. Rep * 2 more times.
PomPom:
Girls- Using 2 fingers, wrap 20 times. (may need help from another person) Tie a 2 inch piece of yarn between the 2 fingers and around all loops. Now, just use that yarn to attatch to the top of boot as shown in pictures.
PomPom:
Boys- Make a traditional, 1 inch pompom. See Making A Pompom.
