REMOVAL OF HUGE BUSHES FROM THE TEMPLES' STRUCTURES.

INTRODUCTION: TEMPLES RENOVATION GROUP was formed to renovate neglected Temples. SEVEN Dilapidated / Ancient Temples (all more than 500 hundred years old) have been taken up for renovation utilising the latest Building Technology.

In all the SEVEN TEMPLES, heavy growth of bushes and deep roots have been cleared. The cracks on the Temples' Structures / Roof have been fixed. The Sculptures, Murals and other images were restored. We have now taken up the EIGHTH and the NINETH Temples for renovation.

Before
Renovation:
Huge Bushes / Root pentrated into the Structures and damaged the Temple.

After
Renovation:
Deeply penetrated Bushes/Roots (into the Structures) were removed - as shown in the First Picture - and Temples Renovated.

    KUMBABHISHEKAM WAS PERFORMED
    ON 02-07-2006.

    Built / Consecrated by Chola Kings 900 years ago. The Sun rays fall on
    Sri Sivalingam of this Temple
    3 DAYS every year (even now).


    2. Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple,
    Thirumangaicheri Village, near Kumbakonam.

    KUMBABHISHEKAM WAS PERFORMED
    ON 04-05-2007.

    Built and Consecrated 1300 years ago.
    Saint Thirumangai Azhwar visited this Temple, which was once a famous
    Raghu Dosha Parihaara Sthalam.


    3. Sri Chokanathar Temple,
    Thirumangaicheri Village, near Kumbakonam.

    KUMBABHISHEKAM WAS PERFORMED
    ON 10-02-2006.
    .
    Built Centuries ago by Pandiya King.
    Saint Thirunavukkarasar visited the Temple,
    which has rich treasure of Rare Icons,
    particularly of the Lord of Dance, Nataraja.


    4. Sri Kailasanathar Temple,
    Mullangudi Village.

    KUMBABHISHEKAM WAS PERFORMED
    ON the 09-02-2007.

    Sri Navukkarasar visited this Temple also
    and made a Poem on Sri Kailasanathar.
    Previous Kumbabhishekam was performed
    nearly 167 years ago.


    5. Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple,
    Thirumangaicheri Village, near Kumbakonam

    Kumbabhishekam was celebrated on 20-01-2002.

    This Temple was built and consecrated nearly 400 years ago by a Saint from a nearby Village.
    The Presiding Deity is nowadays called
    "VARAM ARULUM MURUGAN".




    THE FOLLOWING TWO RUINED TEMPLES ARE TO BE RENOVATED SHORTLY.

    1. Sri Kothandaramar Temple,
    Mullangudi Village, near Kumbakonam.

    Both Sri Anjaneya and Sri Garudhazhwar had Dharshan of Sri Rama and Sri Seetha Devi at Mullangudi, as per Sri Rama's desire. This Dharshan of Sri Seetha Piraatti, later helped Sri Anjaneya to identify Sri Seetha Devi in the Ashoka Vanam in Sri Lanka, when he handed over Kanayaazhi (Ring) to Sri Seetha Piratti. Sri Kothanda Ramar Temple at this an important Sthalam, is now in dilapidated condition.

    A sum of Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees two and half lakhs) is estimated to renovate this Temple.


    2. Sri Choleeswarar Temple,
    Thirumangaicheri Village.

    The Chola Dynasty built this Temple, dedicated to Sri Choleeswarar in Memory of Raja Raja Cholan-I whose sculpture is in a praying posture stands as a witness even today in this 800-year old Temple.

    This TRUST has now taken the initiative to renovate this Ancient Temple to proclaim the Greatness and Dedications of the Great Chola Kings.
