Basket Of Bounty

Your youngster can decide what
goes in their care package.

The Things You'll Do: Enlist your child
Basket of bounty on an important mission. Ask them to help you
find special items to fill a basket for an
elderly neighbor or an organization that helps
feed the hungry. As you pick out items together
for your basket, you can talk with your child
about the importance of helping other people
in need. You might bring up something from their
own experience. ("Do you remember when you were
hungry and your friend shared their sandwich with
you?") In this basket there are dried soup mixes,
herbal tea, biscuits, a scarf, a flashlight,
batteries, and homemade beeswax candles. To per-
sonalize the gift, invite your youngster to
make a card to accompany the basket. They can
draw a picture and you can help them write a
living message.
