RSA ~ Remember Sammie Always
A life so young released to heaven... Left on earth, we wonder "Why?" But some are sent among us briefly... Some have spirits meant to fly.
This is a beautiful and loving gift for Angel Sammie from my dear friend, Carol, mom to Angel Michael.
Our Christmas Angels
My beautiful Sammie-girl. Her story is long but I'll try to shorten it. My
baby was only 4 years old when she went to be with God. Sammie was napping
at daycare (2nd day there) and she never woke up. She came in contact with
a type of virus that quickly turned into a bacterial infection that attacked her lungs
and trachea. It is called tracheobronchitis and bronchiolitis. She just stopped breathing. No, she didn't suffer or gasp for
air. If that had been the case, she would have woken up from her sleep.
She went peacefully.
At the hospital I was allowed to hold her and I will
never regret that as long as I live. Yes, it was very hard, but holding her
one last time; feeling her warm body and touching her face and hair trying
never to forget was what I needed to do. Sammie was developmentally delayed
and couldn't talk hardly at all. She was able to say a few words but not
many. Sadly enough I never heard her say "Mommie". She also had a seizure
disorder that was really starting to get out of control. She was scheduled
for some testing the day after she passed away. When the autopsy came back
and was reviewed with us by her neurologist, he informed us of some
interesting news. If Sammie would have never caught this virus and lived,
her life would probably only have worsened. As it turns out, her brain was
not developing as it should have. The part of her brain that holds memory
was very affected by certain cells that didn't line up. So, more than
likely she would have worsened in development. I am VERY thankful, however,
of her capability of loving and laughing. She touched so many lives with
her smiles, hugs and wet kisses. I will always have an emptiness in my life
without her. Whenever I sign
greeting cards or letters, I make sure to put RSA on them (Remember Sammie Always). I LOVE MY SAMMIE-GIRL!
This is a gift for Sammie's mom, from me and your Sammie girl..... for I believe that Sammie wants to tell you congratulations on your recent wedding!!! Lots of love, and I just know that you and Sean will be very happy together!
This precious ornament and the beautiful graphic below are loving gifts to Sammie's mom from my dear friend Pammi.
Pammi also sent the images above and framed a couple of photos on here as special gifts for Sammie's birthday.
The Mansion of Heaven
This world, however beautiful, was never meant to be The place that we would call our home for all eternity. And though we would not choose to leave, a loving God knows best, and in His time, He lifts us to a place of peace and rest. For He has built a mansion where His children will abide, Free from pain and sorrow, forever at His side. He said He'd never leave us to face our trials alone, And though sometimes we fail Him, He never fails His own. And even when our choices are less than He would ask, He knows when human courage is unequal to the task. We cannot judge what happens, though tears and questions start -- We only see what's visible -- God sees into the heart... And though there may be many things that we cannot explain, We can be sure it breaks His heart to see His children's pain. In loving arms, He bears us to a quiet place apart Where He mends the wounded spirit and heals the broken heart. And though these ones we love so much have left our present sight And passed into a better world of majesty and light, Someday we'll be together in our Father's home above, Where we'll thank Him for His mercy and praise Him for His love.
I'll Stand By You
Performed by The Pretenders
Oh, why you look so sad? Tears are in your eyes
Come on and come to me now.
Don't be ashamed to cry, let me see you through
Cause I've seen the dark side too.
When the night falls on you, you don't know what to do,
Nothing you confess could make me love you less
I'll stand by you, I'll stand by you, won't let nobody hurt you,
I'll stand by you.
So, if you're mad get mad, don't hold it all inside,
Come on and talk to me now.
And hey, what you got to hide? I get angry too
But I'm alot like you.
When you're standing at the crossroads,
don't know which path to choose, Let me come along,
cause even if your wrong I'll stand by you, I'll stand by you,
won't let nobody hurt you, I'll stand by you.
Take me into your darkest hour, and I'll never desert you.
I'll stand by you.
And when, when the night falls on you baby,
you're feeling all alone, You won't be on your own,
I'll stand by you. I'll stand by you I'll stand by you,
won't let nobody hurt you, I'll stand by you
Take me in into your darkest hour, and I'll never desert you
I'll stand by you
The song playing on here, I'll Stand By You by The Pretenders, is a very special one for Sammie's mom.
Tomorrow, Whenever
Written in memory of Samantha Dillard, a child of light, by Sheila Samantha Petite, December 4, 1997
You have left our lives void today because you are missing from us naturally Oh - but tomorrow, when ever it comes whenever - this night will end, Our lives will no longer be void, for joy will come as the morning light, as we remember the light you left, the light of your smile the light of your laughter and the light of your soft wet kisses that were filled with such love. Oh sweet tomorrow whenever it comes Whenever it comes Whenever it comes
To My Mother
I see you each time you shed a tear, I catch it and kiss you, I hope you know that I'm near. This place is so beautiful, there's so much to see! I know that someday you'll be here with me. The angels were singing when I arrived. Jesus was there with his arms open wide. The snow ans the rain are just my confetti, I know you'll be coming and I want to be ready. When you feel the wind, it's me walking by. I can run and skip now, I can even fly! When the blossoms and leaves fall into your hair, It's me planting kisses, yes, I put them there! The birds are singing to keep you company, They're especially for you with love from me. I know that you miss me and feel so alone, Until the great day when you finally come home. Please remember, as the seasons change from one to another, I'll always love you; you're my friend and my MOTHER!
The Broken Chain
We had no way of knowing When God would call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone; For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
If I should ever leave you whom I love To go along the Silent Way grieve not, Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk Of me as if I were beside you there. (I'd come -- I'd come, could I but find a way! But would not tears and grief be barriers?) And when you hear a song or hear a bird I loved, please do not let the thought of me Be sad... For I am loving you Just as I always have... You were so good to me! There are so many things I wanted still to do -- So many things to say to you... Remember that I did not fear... It was just leaving you that was so hard to face... We cannot see Beyond... But this I know; I loved you so -- 'twas heaven here with you!
Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones, Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! But Jesus' love illumined Every dark and fearful glade. And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth -- You shall rest in Jesus' land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!
