Rolling over Walker felt a familiar presence in the room. Opening his eyes slowly, a soft gasp of unexpected pleasure escaped his lips, as the vision before him instantaneously took his breath away.

She was standing by the window wearing a sheer, white negligee. The moonlight illuminated the enticing and provocative curves of her slender body. The soft, gentle breeze from the open window made the golden tresses of her hair dance seductively against her cheeks and bare shoulders. With the smile of an angel sent from above; her body beckoning to his as she gracefully began to move slowly towards him.

Walker watched with growing anticipation as she approached the bed; the roar of his accelerated heartbeat deafening in his ears as his body responded with immediate arousal. The transparent material of her apparel hid nothing from his admiring eyes. He gazed almost as if in a trance at the fullness of her breasts, her nipples being hard with excitement. He observed the gentle and beguiling sway of her hips. He let his eyes drop to her bare feet before deliberately letting them travel back up the length of her long shapely legs; pausing to admire the junction of soft blonde hair that covered her womanhood before returning his gaze to her beautiful face.

"Walker..." she sighed softly, as she came to a stop by the side of the bed.

Walker pushed back the covers; moving to kneel in front of her. The strain of his aroused manhood painful against the front of his briefs. Leaning forward he caressed the smooth skin of her flushed face with his rugged hands before cupping her cheeks; leaning even closer to kiss her.

Their lips touched tentatively at first; exploring, nibbling, tasting. Their tongues traced the shape of their lips, before touching tip to tip. As the wave of their passion began to build, their kiss deepened. Tongues became entwined. Hands became quickly entangled in the others hair. Bodies pressed so tightly together, they knew not where one started or the other ended. Their moans of desire wafted through the peaceful night air.

Before their ragging desire could consume them both, she withdrew her lips from his as she placed her hands on the broad expanse of his chest; pushing him gently away from her. Walker’s groan of disappointment brought a small smile to her lips as she stepped back several steps, away from his out stretched arms. Running the tip of her tongue over her lips seductively she lifted her negligee; mesmerizing Walker with her actions. Tantalizingly slow, she began pulling it up an inch at a time; exposing her naked beauty, before finally removing the garment totally. Extending her arm to the side she let the negligee flutter gently to the floor. Once again licking her lips, she lifted her arms; beckoning to him.

Walker growled with desire as he swiftly moved off the edge of the bed to stand before her. The ache in his loins was to the point of being unbearable as he pulled her into the circle of his arms, capturing her lips in a deep, passion filled kiss. They let their hands roam freely; touching all the pleasurable spots, mimicking the execution of the others actions. She inserted her finger tips in the waist band of his briefs, slowly pulling them down his hips to free his erect manhood before continuing to push them down his muscular thighs and legs. When they reached his feet he stepped out of them, kicking them across the room. Lifting her erotic eyes to lock with his, she began to kiss and lick her way back up his body until their lips reclaimed each others.

They began to explore each other once again, letting the waves of pleasure rise to a fevered pitch; touching, caressing, fondling. They let the fire of their combined longing fuel each other for what seemed an eternity before Walker began to guide them back towards the bed. When the back of his legs hit the edge of the bed, Walker released her momentarily to move into the center of it; reaching for her as he whispered huskily, "Join me my love."

The room suddenly began to change; filling with a thick, blinding haze. The woman before him reached out for him. Walker gasped in terror as she began to move away from him; fading into the thickness of the haze. He tried desperately to move back to the edge of the bed to pull her into the protection of his arms; but he couldn’t move. It was as if he was frozen in time. No matter how hard he tried, his body would not respond to his commands. Then she vanished from his sight completely.

As quickly as the haze had appeared it was gone. All that remained was the memory of her touch and the sound of his heartache as he cried out her name.

"Alex."

********

Walker sat bolt upright in bed. His body was covered with a sheen of sweat. His heart pounded loudly in his chest and his breathing was ragged and labored. Glancing around the room he confirmed that he was indeed the only one there. "DAMN...Why is this happening?" he groaned out loud.

Tossing back the covers with frustration, he moved to the side of the bed; sitting on it’s edge. Running his fingers through his damp, tussled hair, he concentrated on evening out his breathing and heart rate before taking on the challenge of once again trying to figure out exactly what the dream was trying to tell him.

Every night for the past two weeks he had experienced the same disconcerting dream, and it was really beginning to take it’s toll on him. He would only be asleep two hours at the most before the dream would begin; and when he was awakened by it he couldn’t get back to sleep. The lack of sleep was bad enough but the frustration of why he was having this dream was even more taxing on him.

The dream was always so vivid and real. He could see the sparkle of Alex’s baby blue eyes. He could smell her favorite perfume in the night air. He could feel the erotic sensations course through him as she caressed his body so lovingly. He could taste her lips against his.

When he had the dream the first couple of times he had passed it off as just that...an erotic dream about the woman he loved. No harm in that other than the extremely aroused state that he would find himself in upon awakening with no means of relief; other than the age old remedy of taking a cold shower. But when the dream continued night after night, he began to rehash it over in his mind trying to find the hidden meaning in the dream. He knew there had to be a reason he was having the same dream over and over again, but for the life of him he just couldn’t figure it out.

Why did she suddenly back away from him instead of joining him on the bed? Or was she taken from him? Did it mean her life was in danger?

All these questions and dozens more tormented his every waking thought. He wanted to talk to Alex about the dream, but her case load was so backlogged since she had spent so much time on the Rankin case and bringing in a conviction on it, that they had barely had the chance to say Hi to each other since then. And he couldn’t talk to C.D. or Trivette about the dream because...well just because it was too personal in nature.

What was he going to do? He couldn’t survive much longer on two hours of sleep a night that’s for sure. And other than trying to figure out the dreams meaning on his own, he knew of nothing else he could do. Shaking his head in disgust, Walker rose heading towards the bathroom for yet another cold shower in the middle of the night.

********

Walker was pleasantly surprised as he entered C.D.’s bright and early the next morning; for there sitting on a stool at the end of the bar was Alex...the woman of his dreams.

Glancing around the room he discovered they were the only ones present for the time being. With a smile of happiness on his face he decided to take full advantage of this fact as he moved silently up to her. Leaning over her shoulder he whispered in her ear, "Mornin’ beautiful", as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Alex jumped slightly from being startled but knew who it was immediately as she leaned back against him and replied, "Good morning Cowboy."

"How did you know it was me and not just some stranger?" Walker asked with a chuckle as he tickled her sides.

"I just did." she giggled as she slapped at his hands and turned so that they were now facing each other. "I would know you anywhere."

"Oh you would would you? How can you be so sure about that?"

"Because I know." Alex stated firmly.

"How?" Walker asked as he began to lower his lips to hers.

"Because no one could ever make me feel the way you do when you touch me." Alex sighed softly as their lips touched tenderly. With that first touch, tremors of passion began to build at an intensified rate. It seemed as if it had been forever since they had even seen each other let alone been able to enjoy the feel of being in each others arms. Forgetting that they were sitting in the middle of C.D.’s bar and grill, they deepened their kiss letting their yearnings run wild; if only for a few precious moments.

"Well hey you two...I haven’t seen you both in here at the same time for two weeks now." C.D. bellowed as he walked out of the door of the kitchen.

Walker and Alex both jumped apart as they quickly remembered where they were; and that they now had C.D. standing there grinning at them like a big old Cheshire cat.

Alex was the first to regain some of her composure as she spoke to C.D. "You know how work is C.D. It keeps us both really busy."

"Yes I know it does darlin...but you both need to take some time for yourself. Can’t have all work and no play you know."

Alex smiled first at C.D. than over at Walker; who had sat down rather quickly, on the bar stool next to hers. Her grin wavered when she noticed how her fiancee’s face was flushed with desire and embarrassment; not to mention very haggard and tired looking.

C.D. took their order and headed off into the kitchen, once again leaving them by themselves. Alex placed her hand on Walker’s fore arm as she spoke, "You look awful tired Walker. Is there something wrong?"

Walker didn’t know how to even begin to explain to her what the reason for his disconcerting fatigue was. He hesitated as he slowly started to speak, "Well...I um...You see...I have been having some dreams and...after I have them I can’t get back to sleep."

Alex squeezed his arm affectionately. "Nightmares?" she questioned.

"No. Yes. It’s hard to explain exactly. They are not really nightmares because they start out pleasant enough but...they end up being very puzzling because of what you do."

"What I do? Walker...I’m in your dream?"

Walker nodded, waiting for the question that he knew she would eventually ask and hoped he would be able to tell her without getting too embarrassed.

"What’s the dream about Walker? What am I doing in it?" Alex asked softly. She could tell that he was very uncomfortable trying to tell her about it.

Walker took a deep breath as he started, "Well it starts with you in a very...lets say revealing...."

"Hey Pard...Hi consular." Jimmy Trivette moved to take the seat beside Walker, giving him a good natured slap on the back as he sat down. Seeing the strange look on Walker’s face and hearing the soft groan escape from his lips he asked hesitantly, "Oh man...did I interrupt something again between you two?"

Walker shook his head as he replied, "That’s all right Trivette. Alex and I can finish our discussion later...can’t we Alex?"

"Yes we can. In fact, I’m running late and have to get going right now anyway; I have an early deposition to do. Walker? How about I fix you and me a wonderful dinner out at the ranch tonight? If nothing unforeseen happens this afternoon, I should be done for the day shortly after 4. What do you say?" Alex asked as she rose from her seat to gather her things as C.D. placed two plates of food on the bar before them.

"Honey, where you running off to? You haven’t eaten your breakfast yet?"

"I’m sorry C.D. I don’t have time." Alex replied grabbing a piece of toast off of the plate taking a bite of it.

"Now you just hold your horses missy, while I put this here in a container for you. Can’t have you starting the day on an empty stomach. No sir." C.D. stated as he grabbed the plate and hurried into the kitchen.

"OK C.D.....I’ll wait, but hurry." Alex replied with a laugh. Turning to Walker with a soft smile on her face, she wrapped her arms around his neck as she purred, "So Cowboy, what do you say? You and me. A couple of thick, juicy steaks. A nice salad. A bottle of wine. An evening of just the two of us...together...alone?"

"Sounds like a wonderful idea." Walker said as he kissed her lightly. Winking at Alex playfully, he turned to look at Trivette as he continued "IF...we can keep someone from interrupting us."

"Oh man...I said I was sorry Walker. Gee."

Alex and Walker both laughed at the look on Trivette’s face as C.D. returned with Alex’s breakfast. Thanking him as she took the bag Alex looked into Walker’s eyes. "I’ll see you hopefully around 5 out at the ranch and do me a favor, bring a big appetite with you."

Walker nodded with a smile on his face as she kissed him on the cheek and said good bye to the three of them. As he watched her turn and walk away he thought to himself, "If she only knew how big of an ‘appetite’ I already have...and it sure isn’t for food."

Alex’s day went even better than she had hoped. The entire day held no unexpected turns of events and went off with out a hitch, leaving her with most of the morning and early afternoon to get caught up on all of her cases. Closing the last of the file’s, she sighed deeply; leaned back in her chair and glanced at the clock that sat on the corner of her desk. It was only 1:30. Great...not only would she have time to stop and get what she needed for their evening meal, she would also have a chance to go to the boutique down the block. She had seen the most beautiful satin negligee just the other day and thought about buying it for the honeymoon. ‘Who knows...maybe I’ll get a chance to wear it before then...maybe even tonight’, she thought with a hopeful giggle.

Checking around the office one last time to make sure she was finished for the day, she grabbed her purse and walked out the door. Walking towards the elevator she smiled brightly, hoping Walker was having just as good of a day as she was.

********

Alex was just finishing up getting everything ready for their romantic meal. The salads were made and placed into the refrigerator. The potatoes were all scrubbed and ready to be baked. The steaks had been pounded and were soaking in a wonderful marinated sauce that C.D. had given her the recipe for and the bottle of wine she had bought was sitting in an ice bucket beside Walker’s side of the table.

She had set the table for the two of them with his Mother’s lace table cloth and her beautiful set of china dishes. Crystal wine goblets sat by each place setting. Twin pillar candles were placed in the center of the table an either side of the vase of flowers that she had picked when she had first arrived; thinking they would make a wonderful addition to the mood she was trying to set for the evening. As an after thought, she hurried out to her car and retrieved her and Walker’s favorite cd of romantic love songs and placed it into the stereo.

Stepping back she surveyed her handy work with a smile. Satisfied that everything was perfect, Alex decided to take some carrots out to Ranger and Angel to kill some time as she awaited Walker’s arrival. It was only just now 4pm and she knew that she had at least an hour to wait, if not more. As she walked out the back door towards the barn, she found herself once again hoping that Walker had as quiet and relaxing of a day as she had.

********

Unbeknownst to Alex, Walker was having the exact opposite kind of day than she had enjoyed. By the time 2pm had rolled around he and Trivette had already been in three major fist fights, brought in five suspects on warrants and had busted a petty car theft ring.

After dropping off the gang of car thieves to be booked and finger printed, they had headed towards CD’s wanting to grab something quick to eat when they were called in on a major drug bust down in the warehouse district.

By the time they had arrived, several of the drug dealers had made it to their van and were making their hasty escape; with Walker immediately giving pursuit. It took Walker nearly an hour of high pursuit chase before he managed to ram the vehicle off of the road, to crash into a grove of trees. Three of the five suspects were knocked out or injured in the wreck; while the other two took off on foot. Leaving Trivette with the vehicle and the injured men until backup arrived, Walker took off after the other assailants.

Four hours later, the suspects were all finally in custody and the two extremely tired rangers were headed back to headquarters to work on the mountain of paper work that was waiting for them because of their very productive day.

When Walker pulled into headquarters parking lot, Trivette; in an attempt to make up for yet again interrupting Walker and Alex at CD’s that morning, told his partner to head on home and he would get the paper work taken care of. Walker took him up on the offer not only because he hated doing the tedious paper work associated with his job, but more importantly he knew Alex would be waiting at the ranch for him and he really needed to be with her. As he thanked his partner and pulled back onto the street he hoped that the remainder of the evening would turn out much better than his day had gone, and that Alex wasn’t too upset that he was running late.

********

Alex checked the clock on the mantle once again. It was after six and there was still no sign of Walker. Sighing heavily with impatience, she decided to go and freshen up a bit before he did arrive.

Moving up the stairs, she paused as she was passing Walker’s bedroom door. Her eyes widened in amazement as they immediately landed on the huge new bed that sat boldly in the one corner of the room.

"So this must have been what his big secret was," she said out loud as she smiled brightly and moved into the room.

Walker had told her a couple of weeks ago that he had seen something and that he had bought it on the spot as a wedding gift for the two of them. Alex laughed out loud, as she remembered all the images that had run through her mind and how she had kept praying it wasn’t anything like that ‘butt ugly’ lamp that she had finally managed to talk him into getting rid of. She had been very curious and some what nervous about his mystery gift and had tried and tried to get him to tell her what it was, but all she had gotten out of him was that it was something larger than a bread box; that it was perfect for them and to trust him in his judgment about it. Her prayers had been more than answered though and she had a wonderful new found faith in her fiancee’s taste. She absolutely loved the new bed that stood before her.

Feeling like a child that was over flowing with excitement, Alex hurriedly climbed into the middle of the bed; bouncing on her knees to test the mattress. Giggling at her silly and impulsive actions, Alex playfully bounced for a few more seconds before she flopped down on her stomach to catch her breath.

Enjoying the feel of the comfortable mattress cradling her body, Alex rolled onto her side and pulled Walker’s pillow out from under the comforter; wrapping her arms tightly around it. Breathing deeply of his masculine scent, she closed her eyes and let her mind begin to wander; imagining what it will be like to be laying in this big bed next to Walker for the very first time. To make passionate love with him in it. To; hopefully someday, conceive their children in it. To wake up in the morning, wrapped safely in his loving arms for the rest of her life.

Alex sighed dreamily as her body began to relax; the tensions from her stressful job disappearing as the images in her mind relived the rare and magical occasions, that she and Walker had made love and spent the night wrapped in each others arms. As the loving arms of slumber over took her; Alex’s last thoughts were of how she couldn’t wait to be married to Walker; the man that she had always longed for...the man she would spend eternity with...the man of her dreams.

********

Walker shut the ram’s engine off, as he slowly removed the key from the ignition. Releasing a deep sigh of gratitude, he was more than a little thankful to finally end the day he had just experienced. His body ached from the numerous punches he had received. The weeks of not getting enough rest were quickly engulfing him; adding to his bodies general discomfort. But as he turned his weary eyes towards the house, his heart began to beat with renewed energy at the very thought of the magical woman who awaited him inside. He knew that with just one look into her sky-blue eyes, the days events would be long forgotten. He knew her loving and softly spoken ‘Hello Cowboy’ would make everything right with the world. And he knew; without a shadow of a doubt, that with just one kiss from her tempting and luscious lips, that the painful throbs of his body would evaporate and turn into the much more pleasurable, throbs of passion and desire. With a growing and ever-so-pleasant urgency to hold the woman he loved in his arms, Walker hurriedly exited his vehicle and headed towards the house.

Walker entered the house; stopping just long enough to hang his hat on the peg by the front door, before he sauntered towards the kitchen. He smiled warmly when he saw the dining room table set for one of Alex’s romantic dinners. The love he felt for her welled up inside him, making his heart beat faster in anticipation of the love filled evening she had in store for him. As he peered in the kitchen; still not finding his lovely lady, he continued his search for her.

He had noticed the horses had been let out of their stalls when he arrived home, so he assumed that Alex wasn’t still down at the barn. Alex and he both always made it a habit to spend some time with the horses before putting them out to run in the pasture. ‘Maybe she is upstairs’, he thought, as he made his way to the stairs; taking them two at a time.

As Walker reached the top of the stair case, he was just about to call out to Alex when he heard a soft sound emitting from his room. As he peered into the room, the site before him made the breath catch in his chest and brought a soft and tender smile to his face. There before him was the woman of his dreams, fast asleep in the bed that he had purchased as a wedding gift to her.

‘God she is so beautiful,’ he thought as he walked silently into the room. Cautiously, he sat on the edge of the bed; not wanting to wake her just yet, as he let his eyes feast upon her beauty.

She looked so peaceful. So content, as she lay on her side; her arms hugging his pillow tightly against her breasts. Gently he picked up the golden hair that was partially covering her face from his viewing pleasure; enjoying the silkiness of it before placing it back where it belonged. Letting his eyes caress her angelic face, he noticed the slight flush to her cheeks just as her tempting lips curled into a soft and subtle smile and a mumbled sigh breathlessly escaped from them.

Needing to feel the sweet touch of her lips against his and the even stronger urge of having her arms wrapped around him instead of his pillow, Walker lay down beside his sleeping beauty; delicately removing the pillow to replace it with his own body.

Alex moaned as her arms encircled him ardently; molding her body against his as if it were her life line. Her lips sought and found his immediately; devouring them in a heated and passionate kiss that threatened to take his very breath away. Her tongue danced enthusiastically against his as her hands grasped his hair; holding his head firmly.

Walker’s emotions overwhelmed him, as her mouth continued it’s wild and loving assault on his. His breath quickened as the flames of yearning burst worth; promptly enlarging his manhood to it’s full length as he let himself go completely to savor the intense sensations of Alex having her unencumbered way with him.

Even though they both were fully clothed, Walker could feel the hardness of her aroused nipples pressed so temptingly against his chest as she crushed her body to his. Entangling her legs with his, she pressed her womanhood against his thigh and he was amazed how he could actually feel the intense heat and wetness of her own desires through the thick material of his jeans.

Her hands untangled themselves from his hair as she reached for the front of his shirt; unexpectedly ripping the buttons loose to send them flying across the room. Her lips left his briskly as they blazed a sensual trail of liquid fire down onto his now bare chest. Clasping one of his nipples between her teeth; she nibbled and suckled it deeply for several earth shattering seconds before she released it and moved swiftly to give the same attention to the other. Her hands began to heatedly caress his furred chest as they made their way down to his erection; which she clutched roughly through his jeans. Walker groaned loudly as suddenly, Alex pushed herself away from him; almost as if she had been hit by a bolt of electricity.

Breathing heavily, Alex sat up to look around the room as she tried to figure out where she was. She then turned back to look at him with a wild and dazed expression on her face. Blinking rapidly and shaking her head several times, she tried to rid herself of the last traces of sleep and to calm her frenzied heart beat.

Walker fought to calm his own labored breathing, as he too sat up on the bed. He knew she was confused and was fighting to become fully awake. Not knowing what else to do to comfort and reassure her, he reached out and gently touched her passion flushed cheek.

At the mere touch of his hand, Alex’s eyes widened with shock, as the realization of what she had been doing hit her full force. Looking at the man before her, her eyes landed on the torn shirt and the extreme redness of his nipples. The memories of her uninhibited and tempestuous behavior just moments ago made her cheeks turn bright red with embarrassment as her hands flew to cover her face and she breathlessly murmured "Oh my God."

Walker moved to her side; wrapping his arms around her trembling body. "It’s OK Alex." he whispered. "It’s all right."

"Oh Walker...I am so sorry. I...I was...I feel asleep and...I was dreaming and I...Oh...I am so embarrassed."

Walker rubbed her back gently. "Alex, there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Honest." Walker placed his finger tips under her chin; tilting her head up.

Alex raised her eyes tentatively to meet his. "But I was acting so...I mean...well you know...aggressive and...and rough."

"Alex." Walker soothed as he held her tightly. "In case you don’t remember I was the VERY willing recipient of your attentions. I wasn’t exactly fighting you off."

Eyeing his red and swollen nipples once again, Alex noticed the numerous amount of bruises on his torso. "Are you sure you weren’t fighting me off?" Alex asked with concern, as she lightly touched the biggest of the bruises.

Walker chuckled as he replied, "No. Those are courtesy of the horrible day I had."

"Oh great. You have a bad day, come home with bruises all over you and end up with a crazy woman in your bed attacking you."

"I happen to love the crazy woman that is in my bed very much."

"Well the crazy woman in your bed happens to love you very much." Alex responded, kissing him lightly.

"So crazy woman...what do you think of your wedding gift?" Walker asked as he laid back; adjusting the pillows under his head to make himself comfortable, before he patted the mattress beside him in invitation to her.

"Honestly darling...I don’t know if I like it." she replied sadly. "I mean, it’s beautiful and all. The mattress is the perfect firmness. But...well...I have never, ever had dreams like this before and if I am going to keep having dreams like the one I just had..." Alex’s voice trailed off as she lowered herself to Walker’s side; snuggling closely to him.

Walker wrapped his arm around her as he kissed her on the tip of her nose. "I know exactly what you mean. Remember this morning at CD’s I started to tell you about the dreams I have been having?"

"Yes I remember. You said something about I was in them and I was doing something. Oh no Walker...was I acting like this in your dreams?"

Walker burst out laughing as he looked deeply into her eyes. "No Alex. Let’s just say you were doing the exact opposite."

Alex looked at him with puzzlement. "The opposite?" she questioned.

"Yep. The opposite."
