Plus he taught in church, held prayer meetings in people's homes. He was involved with the youth at church inviting them to his home for taffy pulls etc. He did not allow a deck of cards in the house. His puritan background seemed evident. Sadly, he died before I was born, so all I know of him is what my Dad told me and my Dad had a very special relationship with his Dad which enabled my Dad to be an exceptional nurturing father to me. We had a very special relationship of love, trust and respect with honor. |
