MAINES, OSWALD DANIEL, b, June 14, 1881, Clearfield co. PA. died October 2, 1947, Clearfield, PA.  Resided in Kerr Addition, Clearfield, PA., at time of his death.  Oswalt  married Ruth Caroline Buck, daughter of Alfred and Sarah (Doney) Buck on 05/15/1918, more info. on Buck page.  Ruth's 2nd mariage, Maynard Goss on 11/10/1979.  Maynard was the son of Albert Daniel Goss and Mabel Irene (Smeal) Goss, Maynard was  born 12/03/1900, died 07/15/1988, Hill Crest Cemetery Maynard's first wife was Alice E. Summers, born 1898, died 1955.  Maynard's parents were Albert Daniel Goss and Mabel Irene (Smeal) Goss, grandparents were Isaac Goss and Elizabeth (Philips) Goss. Alice and Maynard had 9 children.

Carl Roseman, husband of living Maines, b. 11/20/1929 d. 11/04/2006
Kenneth E. Maines, b. 11/06/1923, died 06/01/2007, served with the U.S. Army, WWII, son of Oswald & Ruth.  Wife of Ken Maines, Maxine McCracken Maines, born July 16, 1924 died Nov. 6, 2001.  Maxine was the dau. of Daniel and Edna (Buck) McCracken.  Oswalt served God in his daily life.   Plus he taught in church, held prayer meetings in people's homes.    He was involved with the youth at church inviting them to his home for taffy pulls etc.    He did not allow a deck of cards in the house.
His puritan background seemed evident.  Sadly, he died before I was born, so all I know of him is what my Dad told me and my Dad had a  very special relationship with his Dad which enabled my Dad to be an exceptional nurturing father to me.   We had a very special relationship of love, trust and respect with honor.
