| This is a picture of Clearfield taken from the hill across the river near an area called East End. The large white house and the other homes have the River Road in front of them. To the left of the picture is where the Nichols Street bridge is located. The small dark building and the other small grey building near the bank on this side are part of the railroad yards. Flooding was an annual event when I was growing up, but the worse flood happened in 1936 long before I was born. There is a marker on the old jail that measures how high the water was in 1936. |
