Mrs. Sarah (Ogden) Maines, mother of W.E. Maines of Bradford township, died, Nov. 22, 1933, age 83 years.
She was the mother of eleven children of whom the following five survive:  Frank Maines of Girard township; Otis (Oswald) Maines of Bradford township, A.C. Maines of Goshen township and Mrs. Ira (Adda)( Maines) Hurley  of Philadelphia.
She is survived also by thirty-two grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Mrs. Maines was a descendant of Daniel Ogden, the first white settler of Clearfield county.
In 1867, she married David Maines of Bradford township, who was also a descendant of pioneer settlers in Clearfield county, his ancestors having migragated from Maine at the beginning of the 19th century.  He preceeded her to the grave by 11 years.
Alfred Buck, son of the late Rudoth and Mary Buck, died at his home in Kerr Additon, late Friday evening after an illness of several years.  He was 87 years, six months and nine days old at the time.
Surviving are his widow, Sarah (Doney) Buck and the following children:  Mrs. Pearl Young of Woodland; Mrs. Myrtle Young of Williamsburg; Mrs. Bertha Lansberry of Shawville, Matthew Buck at home, Elmer and Harvey of Shawville; Curtin of Woodland, R.D.2; and Mrs. Oswald D. Maines (Ruth) of Kerr Addition.  There are 45 grand children, 42 great grandchildren and the following brothers:  Harry and Burnley Buck of Kerr Addtion. 
Short funeral services were held at the residence and in the Bradford church with Rev. J.C. Rupp officiating.  Interment was made in Bradford Cemetery.
Wed., Dec. 16th, 1868
Malissa, daughter of Matthew S. and Mary J. Ogden of Clearfield borough, died of consumption, age 17 yrs and 8 months and 15 days.
Mrs. Clara (Best) Buck, 87 of Clearfield, died Sept. 2, in the Clearfield Hospital.  Born in Pennsylvania, June 8, 1881, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Jane (Irwin) Best, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry, three daughters, Ethel, Edna & Leathy and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Chalmer Buck, and a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Calvello..  Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Zella Peters of San Bernadino, Calif. and two brothers, Jack Best, Condon, Mont. and Frank Best, Accekeek, Md.  There are 13 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Clearfield.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Nicholson Funeral Home.  The Rev. Robert Haines will officiate and interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Mrs. Zola Best, 83 of Niagara Falls, N.Y. died in the Clearfield Hospital, Sunday.  She had been visiting relatives in the Clearfield area when she became ill.
The widow of Irvin Best, she was born at Curwensville, Sept. 14,1881, a daughter of the late Simon and Susanna (Clouser) Painter.
The following children survive, Ansel; William, Mrs. Sara Robacker; Mrs. Ann Catherine Daniel and Mrs. Olive Knight.
A sister Mrs. Maude LaRock survives as do 23 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 4 great great granchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at the Nicholson Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Miller officiting.  Interment will be in the McNaul Cemetery at Curwensville.
Matthew Buck, of Eden, died yesterday, February 23, 1971 at 11:30 pm at the Clearfield Hospital,  He was 84.
Born in Clearfield county, Nov. 6,1886, he was the son of Alfred & Sara (Doney) Buck.  He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Young, Mineral Springs and Mrs Ruth Maines, Kerr Addition.  And two brothers, Harvey of Woodland and Elmer of Eden with whom he resided.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  His parents, three sisters and a brother preceeded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 PM at the Fred B. Leavy Furneral Home in Clearfield.
Rev. Ray E. Gnagey will officiate and intermete will be at Bradford Cemetery.
Elmer E. Buck. of Hyde died Friday, April 18, 1986 in the Clearfield Hospital.  Born in Beishtown, Woodland R.D. on April 22, 1890, he was the son of Alfred and Sarah (Doney) Buck.  He worked most of his life as a farmer and was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Woodland.
He is survived by his wife, the former Cella Fry, two sons, Earl E. of Hyde and Earnest E. of Ginter; and two grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother Harvey Buck of Woodland.  He was preceded in death by his parents and these sisters and brothers:  Pearl Young, Myrtle young, Bertha Lansberry, Annie Buck, Ruth (Buck) (Maines) Goss, Matthew Buck and Kurt Buck. 
Services will be held Monday at 11 am, at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc. with the Rev. R. Jeffrey Fisher officiating.  Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.
Mrs. Tabiatha Fisher dies at Winslow Home
Highly esteemed woman succumbs after long illness, age 74 years.
Mrs. Tabathia Fisher, widow of the late Jared Fisher of near Winslow, died at her home yesterday  morning at 10 o clock age, 74 years and 7 months.  She had resided in Clearfield county all her life and was one of the oldest and most respected residents of that section.  She leaves several sons and daughters and a wide circle of friends who mourn the loss of a woman of sterling qualities  as a mother, neighbor and friend.  Brief funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 Sunday afternoon.  Services will then be held at the Davis Church and buriel made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  16 May 1917 is the date that someone wrote on the obit.
I don't know why Tabiatha's obit, does not list her children and her parents.  It's very strange.  I do know her parents were Henry and Mariah (Turner) Mains, my gg-grandparents.  She was the sister of my
g-grandfather. David W. Mains.
I. W. Best passed away at his home in  Kerr Addition on 12/20/1925. He had been a patient at the Clearfield Hospital for many weeks and passed away a short time after being home.  Mr. Best and his family had long been residents of Shiloh, near Woodland, and recently moved to their home in Kerr Addtion.  He was a member of the United Brethren church a Shiloh and a Spanish-American war verteran.
He is survived by his widow and five children:Ansel, Grier, Sadie, Anna, and Olive.  His father, five sisters and five brothers also survive.
Funeral services were held at his home on Dec. 24th.  Interment at the McNaul cemetery, Curwensville with military honors.

He was born in Bradford twp., April 3, 1871.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara (Best) Buck; two daughters and a son.  Mrs. Leathy Rodeen of Clearfield R.D. and Mrs Wilma Calvello and Chalmer of Clearfield.  Also surviving are one brother, Richard of Clearfield, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Two daughters Ethel & Edna preceeded him in death. 
Funeral services will be held from the Nicholson Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Monday, in charge of Rev. Leslie MacRae and Rev. A.H. Owens.  Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery
