Doing my research for the McCracken family, I found very little on the Internet concerning my gg-grandfather Philip McCracken. So this page is devoted to Philip and his offsprings. Philip lived most of his live in Ferguson township, Clearfield county, his trade was lumbering and farming. I haven't found much on his wife Mary Jane, the Swaney name has proven to be very elusive in Clearfield county. With the help of my husband I found Philip's grave site. I've seen on the Internet that he was buried in New Millport cemetery which is not true. He is buried in Williams Cemetery with his wife and two of his daughters. This cemetery is located outside of New Millport. This discovery was made in Oct. 1999. We took my mother and father to the gravesite and it was sad because my mother saw the date when her great Aunt Maud died and she never knew this woman but the woman knew about my mother and her siblings, never made contact. |
