(b. 05/06/1741, d. 12/16/1822 )  Buried at Milesburg, PA. one of the earliest settlers in Centre Co."John Turner came to Cottenton's place after the war married Ann Hanna, b. 1745  John Turner had lived before the war where Joe Boggs lived, on top of the hill on the tract Richard Malone bought of Samuel Wallis, "  Quote from Mary Boggs, widow of Andrew Boggs, 15 Nov. 1806, (History of Centre & Clinton counties, by John Blair Linn.

John Turner, Private, served in the Sixth Battalion- Lt. Col. David Mitchel, Fifth Co. - Capt. William Strain, Cumberland Co. Militia 1787-1780 in the Revolutionary War.   Married Ann ?.  List of their children:

McCelland 1801-1890: Sarah Turner, b. 1801:  Silas B. Turner, b. 1805, d. 1846, married Esther Yarger (1812-1879): William Turner, b. 1808:  John Turner, b. 1810, d. 1890, married Margaret Parsons (1815-1890) and Mary Ann Turner, b. 1813, m. Wilson Calhoun

Samuel Turner b. 1770 , d. 1833, in Mahoning twp. Mercer co. PA., married 1st Lavina Simler dau. of John Henry Simler, Philipsburg. (4 children:  1. George S. Turner, b. 1802, Philipsburg, PA, died in 1888 married Sarah Williams, b. 1809 d. 1888 daughter of Edward Williams. parents of 12 chldren) 2nd Elias Turner, b. 1809 Philipsburg, d. Sept. 26, 1890 married Catherine Cowher, b. 1815, daughter of Frederich & Sarah (Simler) Cowher.  Elias Turner lived in Worth twp, near Port Matilda, parents of seven children.:  3rd. James H. Turner, b. Nov. 10, Philipsburg, d. April 17, 1889, married Elizabeth Smeal on April 13, 1837, she was b. 1817, d. 1908, daughter of Benjamine & Elizabeth (Wisor) Smeal.  James and Elizabeth lived at Wallacton, they are buried in the Bigler Cemetery.  Parents of 16 children.:  4th. Sally Turner, no further information. 2nd  wife of Samuel, Susanna Weiser(Wiser/Wisor), dau. of  John Weiser, Boggs Twp.   *6 children   3.  Margaret Turner married Peter Calhoun   4.  Catherine Turner married Thomas Barlow

*John Turner fought in the Revolutionary War and his grave is in Milesburg, PA
He enlisted in the Revolutionary War in York/Lancaster county.   Some records have John listed as Johannes.  Some say his wife's name was Ann Brown, others say it may have been Ann Hanna.

Jordan; William 1853-1854; Abednego, 1855-1878; Mary Margaret, 1856-1879, m. Hiram Shimmel; Levi; S.C.P.; J.P./ and A.P. ( three infant graves at the Baughman cemetery

John W. Turner, b.03/23/1822, d.08/13/1893 married Martha Dixon, b. 1824, d. 02/14/1875. dau. of James & Ella Dickson.  They are buried in the Bigler cemetery next to John's mother Susan Turner.  John married a second time in 1879 to Mrs. Mary A. Colgrove.  children  of John & Martha:  Ellis Boggs, 1843-1928, m. Ella V. Thompson; Margaret (Maggie), b. 1844, d.1910, m. Mark Taylor; Martha (Myrtle), b. 1848, d. 1927, m. William Hambright; Anna Belle, b. 1850, d. 1908, m. Charles Russell;  Elias Kay, b. 1852d, 1938, m. Jane Ann Graham

The following Turner information was given to me by my Aunt Maude , (a very special lady)  she started researching this family back in the 1970's, she did alot of footwork to gather information on the Maines line.    This is the first I've gotten from her notes and I'm very grateful she is sharing with me.  Thank you aunt Maude.  Special thanks also to her daughter, Marge for emailing me the info.

Samuel Turner's will was filed in Mercer Co. PA.  Executors were James T. Turner, John Piper, and Joseph Cowden.  Letters were issued Feb. 19, 1833.
     In the name of God, I. SAMUEL TURNER considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, (Blessed be Almighty God for the same), do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Susannah Turner what the law directs or would allow her to have, and I give and bequeath unto David J. Turner, my youngest son, $100, to be paid when he is 21 years of age or if he gets married before that age he is to have this money on his marriage day, and further I give and bequesth unto my son James T. Turner $100, as recompence for the time he has worked for me since he was 21 years of age, and I only give and bequeath unto my son George B. Turner, $5, believing that I have gave him his full share previous to this, and my will then is that the reidue of my goods, stock, chattels, merchandise and household furniture shall be equally divided among all my children, share and share alike, to be paid them at their severl respective ages of 21 years or day of marriage whichever shall happen first, except George B. Turner who has recieved his full share previous to this my last will and testament.  And my will and meaning is that in case any of my children shall depart this life before such time as as the part or portion of him, her or them so dying shall become payable then and be equally divided among the survivors or survivor of them share and share alike if more than one and to be paid to such surviviors or survivor at the time aforesaid.   And I make and ordain James T. Turner and John Piper and Joseph Cowden executors of my last will and testament.  And I hereby commit the guardianship of all my children until they shall respectfully attain the age of twenty-one years unto John Piper and Dr. Joseph Cowden and the maintenance and education of my children until they shall attain the age aforesaid or be entitled to the sum or sums of money hereby provided for their benefit respectively shall be paid and borne out of the monies or estate given and bequeathed to my children in this my will.       Signed:   Samuel Turner
