Upon becoming a member of the Hopedale Community in the 1840s and 1850s, it was necessary to sign a declaration stating, among many other things, that the signer would never hold office, vote, or petition a legislature. This photo of the Women's Committee for Hoover shows that times had changed by the 1920s. Was this picture taken before the election of 1928 or the election of 1932?
