Larry Bird Visits Little Red Shop "I don't think so," you said, didn't you? Well, okay, actually this is Little Larry visiting the Very Little Red Shop. On a somewhat related matter, the Cousy era Celtics played at the Draper Gym in 1956 and 1957. I know the circumstances of how that came to be, but I've never found a newspaper story on it. Some of you reading this must have been there. What do you remember about it? I'd like to be able to get enough on it to include in a future Hopedale email story. (Email link on homepage.) Since writing those last few sentences, I've found the Milford News articles on the game. See three of them here. I'd still like to add the recollections of those who were there, though, so if that includes you, please send your memories and I'll add them to the page with the news stories. The little shop above is the donation container for the other Little Red Shop. The Hopedale Historical Commission and the Friends of Historic Hopedale have been working there regularly to set it up as a Hopedale museum. We hope to open and have regular hours there starting within a few months. If you'd like to make a donation to help with the remaining expenses, make checks payable to Friends of Historic Hopedale and send to the Friends at Box 7, Hopedale, MA 01747.
