This photo of Asiatic dayflower was taken at the side of my house.  So far, I've only noticed it in two other places. One is on top of the stone wall, just up from the five-way intersection of Freedom, Northrop and Williams Streets and Jones Road. The other is beside Freedom Street near the railroad crossing. (Not the crossing where the road goes over to Bancroft Park, but the crossing near the Freedom Street entrance to the Parklands.)    The half-inch flowers bloom for only a day, but more keep coming from June until October.  Massachusetts is as far north as they are found which is perhaps the reason they don't seem to be too common around here                                        Wildflower menu                     NEXT                 HOME
