This is maple-leaved viburnum. I took the pictures on May 18, 2006, along the Parklands road. It can be found on both sides of the pond.  During the summer, after the flowers are gone, it could be easily mistaken for a small maple tree. It's no relative of the maples, though; it's actually a member of the honeysuckle family. In the fall it has drupes that look like small berries; very different from winged maple seeds, and in the fall, its leaves turn a somewhat purplish color.
