These photos of purple loosestrife were taken near the dam at Freedom Street on July 14, 2006. There's a bit more of it here and there on the pond, but so far, there's not much. The Audibon wildflower book says, "This showy magenta-flowered perennial, a European introduction, covers acres of wetlands, providing a truly spectacular sight.
