KING, lived in Egham Surrey. They only had one child, my father. My great
gparents were: George GARDENER b c 1860, m 16 June 1883 St Martin in the

had a brother William who was a registrar in Egham and involved in horse races

Hi Kathy I was directed to your site by a mutual friend - Joanne Macleod in
Courtenay BC.I am a semi-professional researcher (I only do it part-time)based
in Harlow, Essex and have done some work for Joanne. Firstly may I congratulate
you on the web site - it ranks among the best I have come across!!! May I offer
a word of advice? I notice that you pictures have vertical lines down them. I had
this problem and found that it was the GREEN background causing it - just a
thought, I hope you dont mind. I found your "mystery" fascinating. I dont
often read everything on web sites but I read every word of this one! My first
thought about Queenie (I am right in assuming that you do not have her birth certificate?) is
that her given name might be Victoria? t was too early for Elizabeth and
Margaret but as Queen Victoria was still on the throne, perhaps Queenie may have been a pet
name for someone called Victoria. You have probably already thought of this!! I
told Joanne that I am only 15 miles from Brentwood and 50 from Walton on Naze. I
have a collection of Essex churches on my web site - if you havent got pics of
the churches at these places, let me know if you would like them and when I get
round to goin there, I will let you know. You have probably nodded off after
all this - I shall follow your mystery with interest and would like to link your site from
mine if that is OK with you. Best Wishes Ian Rose Harlow, Essex, UK

Hi Kathy, I met you at the Burnaby Family History Centre today(Feb25/99). I had
a productive day there. I found my great-grandfather's birth registration and
also some of his relatives, possibly his father in the 1881 census. I also ordered
some census records. It' exciting when you find something. This is a great
website. Will you be adding a family tree? I noticed your father was born in 1923. So was my
mom. Yes, doing a family history does help you with your grief but I keep
wishing I my mom was here so I could share my findings with her. I guess this is one of
her gifts to me; to be the family historian. I got curious about the doctor so
I went into that part of your site. Yes, it's amazing what arrangements were made. Are
there birth records for your grandmother and her siblings? What family name
were they given? Jenkins is a Welsh name and is like Smith or Jones- lots of them around.
Your grandmother's name was Queenie. That was my great-aunt's nickname; she was named Sophia Elizabeth but was always called Queenie. She was born in 1900
in England. I have to ask her daughter why she was nicknamed Queenie. Good luck in genealogical pursuits. Mary Anne

Hi Kathy, I got your email, thanks very much! The Sharpe information for you
friend is a Richard Sharpe who I found in Gordon Beavington's 1851 cencus for Gloucester in Ebrington. He was 30 years old then, unmarried and working as a
farmhand on Edmund Hawket's fa m. He later married and they packed their bags and moved to Ottawa, Canada. I think your web page is nice and I especially
like the skeleton in the door. I fell for it right away. Phew! What a story.
The reason I got into genealogy was because both m parents were only children and I never
really saw a lot of the few relatives I had. Anyways, good luck on the search
and I will check in every now and again to see how your successes are going. Al
