Review of 1999
Before I start I would like to remind everyone that I am only one man, and can't see every film released in the year, so here is what I thought of 1999.  If you have your own thoughts then email me at dave_or_did@yahoo.com, or post them on the guestbook.
The Best
1. The Fight Club
2. The Matrix
3. The Iron Giant
4. A Simple Plan
5. Bulworth
6. The Thin Red Line
7. The Sixth Sense
8. Your Friends and Neighbours
9. Happiness
10. American Pie
Films I've been told are also the best, but I haven't seen, or weren't released in the UK last year
American Beauty, Three Kings, The Green Mile, Talented Mr Ripley, Run Lola Run, Toy Story 2, All About My Mother, Pi, Austin Powers 2.
Top Ten BO of the Year
1. Star Wars E1 : TPM
2. Sixth Sense
3. Austin Powers 2
4. Toy Story 2 *
5. Matrix
6. Big Daddy
7. The Mummy
8. Tarzan
9. Runaway Bride
10. The Blair Witch Project
(* still on release, so I've only included 99 grosses.)
Plus, films just brimming under : Election, South Park, The Blair Witch Project, East is East, A Bugs Life, Star Wars: Episode One, 10 Things I Hate About You.
The Dissapointments (Where I expected more)
End of Days (Don't kid yourself Arnie, you can't act)
The Faculty (It was okay, but could have been excellent)
Payback (started off well, ending didn't fit)
Notting Hill (Julia Roberts is not funny)
The Worst
1. Wild Wild West (good title sequence, but bad everything else)
2. Big Daddy (the worst courtroom scene on celluloid, and no humour above the level of toilet)
3. Entrapment (a 30 year old and a 70 year old getting it on, eeww!)
4. Thirteenth Warrior (I don't think anyone actually saw this film, except me unfortunately)
5. End of Days (Arnie, don't try to add any extra dimensions to your films, it doesn't work)
The Golden Globes
This year's first of Hollywood's pat-on-the-back awards ceremonies took place last week.  The Golden Globe winners are often considered the hot tips for Oscars later in the year, but they often differ, so don't run straight to the bookies yet.  Any comments can go on the message board.
