Another year has past,
another year of changes and another year of good news! God has been really gracious to our family and as always we are humbly
thankful for all the blessings he has showered us. This year, we have made
major decisions that led to major changes in our lives. Dawson has turned two and has the craziest but funniest antics a child
has to offer. At an early age of 2 he has shown a tremendous passion for
remote controlled airplanes which he evidently took after his father David
whom as our closest friends know, builds and flies remote controlled
airplanes. David and I agreed for Dawson to join the "Academy of Model
Aeronautics" next year along with him. Joining a national club will
allow Dawson the chance to interact with airplane modelers in a much effective
level. Dawson has also demonstrated a natural flair for musical instruments,
such as guitars, drums and pianos. Such natural inkling to musical
instruments is again influenced by his father who has tons of guitars in our
house. As a family, we observe praying before meals and Dawson loves to take
turn saying grace even if most of his prayers are but mumbles to me and his
dad. He loves to give hugs and kisses even if we don't ask him. For the most
part, he has remained the sweetest child a mother can ask. He is truly a
"Beloved Son." David still works as a software programmer for PEP Technology. On top of
this, he is the official web designer of their company's website. He also
does some web designing on the side. Being an RC Airplane enthusiast, he
joined Victor Valley RC Flyers earlier of this year. Showing great potential
and giving his best efforts to help the VVRC grow, he has earned his
co-members trust and was elected Club Secretary for the year 2006. He is
aspiring to be involved with Master Scale competition in the
future, which is a Giant-Scale radio controlled airplane competition. I on the other hand, left a promising film industry career last May 2005
but I am now more fulfilled managing our family owned Filipino market in
Victorville called "Boracay Filipino Market," a product of David
and I's diligence and hard-work. We opened the store to the Filipino market
on October 15, 2005. My days are mostly consumed talking to Filipino
customers and dealing with major Filipino suppliers. My career life took a 180 degree turn, once
surrounded by western executives in film gatherings now surrounded with
brown-colored Tagalog speaking Filipino charmers...and I love it! With the store, we have earned new friends,
to some extent others are now almost family members. Of the same month,
exactly on May 26, I took my Oath and became a citizen of United States. My
next step is to bring both my parents as legal immigrant here in the US. There is not a day that goes by that we are not thankful for all the
blessings that God, our Father has bestowed upon us. David and I are fully
aware that it is only through the grace of God that everything in our lives
were made possible - from the very first day we talked at Yahoo Personals in
year 2000, to our first meeting, then to our marriage in 2001 and our
remarkable triumphs as husband and wife afterwards. We pray that God may allow us to help less
fortunate ones in a major way for we are aware that our success are but a way
to serve his greater glory. We hope to give all of you more inspiring news in the years to come! |
