Teaching Java in Junior High School
I tried teaching JAVA graphics to a 10 year old child. It worked quite
well. The child thinks it is like solving a puzzle. The gratificaiton
is instant when the program works. Here are some reasons for teaching JAVA
programming:
(1) The process teaches logical thinking.
(2) The artistic feedback gives the computer a friendly appeal.
(3) Geometry ideas and concepts are used.
(4) Color mixing and color palette are shown instantly.
(5) Complex images and fractals can be made rather easily.
