Announcer: This is David Tom's 1st win and 1st nomination for the roll of Billy Abbot on The Young And The Restless. David joined the cast of the 27 year old soap in 1999.
David Tom: Oh Boy !!! Well 1st of all I would like to thank God. He inspires me and he created me and I Love Him. Second of all I would like to thank everyone at Soap Opera Digest. Lyne Laylee - thank-you!! All the dans out there thank you so much. Um Bill Bell, Edward Scott, Nancy Wirer, Kate Olden than you for believing in me and giving me this gift. To my family, my Mom, my sister Heather, my manager (also names a few people) and to all my friends!!! Thank-you! Thank-you!!!!

Y&R's Heather Tom wiped away tears of joy when kid brother David (Billy on Y&R) gave his acceptance speech after winning Outstanding Male Newcomer. "David is an amazing actor - and its not because I'm a biased sister," she laughed.
"I forgot to thank the people I worked with: Jess Walton, David Lago, Ashley Bashioum. When your sitting around the table, all these things are going through your head about what you're going to say if you win. And then you get up there and everything goes right out of your head. And I had written them down and I still forgot."
