The call comes in,
Pagers go off
Headlights cut
the darkness of early morning

Dressed in
yellow orange bands
around Black boots,

Airpacks,
Red trucks
Lights flashing
sirens crying

They are on their way,
Four arms,
Two minds
thinking
working as one

A silent prayer

keep Him safe,
keep Her safe

The Lord watches
over them again

Soaked to the skin,
Tired to the bone

Once again
on the way Home.

I wrote this for Teresa and Frank
it was just a way for a Mother
to show Her pride
in Her Daughter and Son-In-Law.

Please remember the Volunteers
in your prayers,
as they put their life
on the line
for your family and friends.

Heavenly Father,
watch over and protect
those that selflessly give to us.
You have blessed them
in courage and strength
I pray that you keep them safe
until it is their time to rest
Thank you for your kindness
and I praise your Name,
heavenly Father..

Amen!.
