Reflections and Meditations
Taking time to "listen" to God

Our world is a busy place these days! We forget to take the time to be "still and listen to the Lord." These meditations are meant to slow us down from our hectic pace and to ponder and wonder on the greatness of our Lord, learn to care for ourselves and the world around us and receive His grace. Each one is based upon a scripture passage. Before you begin, say a prayer to the Holy Spirit for wisdom so that you may understand what God is saying to you today. Read the passage either from your bible or read it from my page as I have written it here for you, then sink back into your chair, close your eyes and let your mind wander with the thoughts and images that will come to you. After you have finished with the meditation, read and think about the reflection notes that follow. It is a good idea to "journal" your thoughts and feelings. It is a wonderful expression of your emotions, and you can follow your growth as time passes and you read and re-read what you have written. God Bless and God's peace be with you.

Prayer Before Meditation

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,
and You will renew the face of the earth.
Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit,
You have taught the hearts of Your faithful.
In the same Spirit, help us to relish
what is right and always rejoice in Your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
