II was born in Seattle and raised in Atlanta before I moved to NYC in '89. It was there that I met Rupaul, Lady Bunny, Michael Stipe etc.
Occupation ?
Songwriter/Dj/festival organizer. My latest project is my debut album featuring artists like Andy Bell from Erasure, Princess Superstar, Mark Bell(Bjorks producer), Tigra from L'Trimm, and many other new artists and producers. I have a weekly party in NYC called Disgracelnad where we bring in artists like Tiga, Grandmaster Flash, Trevor Jackson, Tiefswcharz, Glimmer Tins, Whitey and Dmitri of Paris. It's an alternative to the mainstream music that makes up most of NYCs scene. My festival happened last week and we had Glimmer Twins, Whitey, junior Vasquez, RadioSlave, Joost Van bellen, and many more emerging stars.
Inspiration?
Well the B-52s, Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk, Almodovar, Amy Sedaris, Rufus Wainwright, Brazil, Japan, Australia, travelling (obviously), Mylo, Hedi Slimane and freaks of all color.
Objective? Electroclash is over for me. The influence is very strong but the ideas and music must change all the time. I now enjoy a very psychedelic mix of acid house, dance rock, and distortion disco. At Disgraceland we try to mix up all kinds of music and crowds to make NYC more diverse. I like to push anything that strikes me as being new....or if it kicks butt

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Well, my album has some absolute smashes on it and it has a very political point of view that I feel is needed more than ever here in America. There is a song sung by Andy Bell called Matthew about gay hate crime victim Matthew Sheppard and a song called Dude where's my Country about the horrible state of politics. But of course people know me for songs about Supermodels, Electro-sluts, and metrosexuals so there will be plenty of super-fun tracks. I have been really taking off as a Dj and the album will showcase my songwriting. My old song Supermodel You bette work is used in the promotions of the new Disney movie the Incredibles. In 5 years I will have a house at the beach and one in the city. I haven't decided which beach, yet (or which country for that matter).
What advise would you give to others?
Take names and addresses. As I have been clean from drinks and drugs for 7 years, I find that the people that do well are very reliable. If you acknowledge people and keep in touch with them, then opportunities arise.
