Introduction to Destroying Barriers by RM Capital requires exploitation to function. Capital dominates all it touches transforming everything within its grasp into repetitive, lifeless, commodities. In order to continue, capital must twist and change everything it dominates to its own usefulness and integrate it into its social system geared towards the creation of surplus which is extracted from the peoples labor to the benifit of a minority (the ruling class). Such objectification of all life provided the basis in which created our current destructive civilization. The ruling classes which impose and maintain the system of capital, can exist only through force; thus the specialized state was simultaneously created in order to prevent those exploited from attacking and destroying those in power in the struggle to live their lives as they see fit as well as enforce capital through such institutions it needs to continue- such as private property and commodity exchange. AS capital expanded and continues to expand, resistance continues to do so as well, therefore other specialized forms of institutions and systems have been created: technology, religion, morality, culture, etc. are all intended to control those constantly exploited by capital. To further control the exploited, those in power in the west offered the system of democracy to give the exploited some illusion of control over their lives. In the USA most notably, we are told we are free because we have the ability to change the present system by voting. However, use of such methods can never change the present system; even more radical attempts such as direct democracy or consensus fail to challenge the system in any direct way. Such methods (representative democracy, direct democracy, consensus etc.) still create roles in which one is forced to partake due to the act of participating in such social organized systems. Roles in any form require specialization; therefore such attempts may alter capital slightly yet fail to challenge the exploitave capitalist system in its entirety. In order to challenge the present system in its entirety, we must break out of the physical and social confines imposed on usby capital and all its specialization and alienation (domestication) Offensive insurrectional acts rupture our imposed commodified daily existence. Insurrectional acts which strike out against all domination strike out against the present social order in its totality. When one bombs a building, assassinates a politician, liberates animals from a laboratory, damages machinery destroying the environment; when done on the individuals own terms, such actions present a threat to the the social order due to such actions disrupting and destroying the social relations reproduced by capital. Such acts challenge the dominant lie the present rulers are invincible therefore inspiring others to insurrection which could lead to social revolution. Knowledge of societies (band gatherer-hunters) where capital, the state, technology are generally non-existent such as the !Kung are excellent examples that alternative societies exist and can exist in the futre. However, to base models of certain societies as future blueprints is to take part in the authoritarian act of limiting ones own imagination to the confines of a certain model. Only violent insurrection, the opening of all possibilities which must destroy imposed physical and social relations of capital can overthrow the massive specialized alienated global giant of our present system; actions in which those whom desire to live their lives on their own terms must take part. |
