Surveillance... (revised) By RM Cameras are appearing ever more frequently in public. Certainly the use of cameras in increasingly more parts of public and loss of privacy in general, with those in power using sept. 11 as an excuse for more control is frightening, however many do not even know exactly what the state is capable of at least in terms of privacy invasion, especially with the modern technology which now exists. An article titled "Decoding Minds, Foiling Advisaries Information warfare is no longer just about machines; it is also about how users think" By Sharon Berry October 2001 SIGNAL Magazine 2001, stated: "... A technology, known as bio-fusion, combines sensors to examine biological systems to understand how information and nueral structures produce thought and to display the thought in mathematical terms. By creating an advanced database containing these terms, researchers now can look at brain activity and determine if a person is lying, recieving instructions incorrectly or concentrating on certain thought types that may indicate aggression... We are at the pont where this database has been developed enough that we can use... something like an airport security system where there is a dome above your head to get enough information that we can know the number you're thinking" http://www.us.net/signal/Archive/Oct01/decoding-oct.html Disturbinly the article provides an example of how the device could remotely read someones thoughts without their knowledge: "... If you go to an automatic teller machine and the sensor system is in place, you could walk away and I would be able to access your personal identification code.."
		With such technology available, it is more than  possible that such  technologies can  be used for surviellance purposes. Considering they have not advanced the technology since what is publicly known,  the technology can certainly  be used for surveillance purposes of understanding and deciphering what a person could be thinking with the device mentioned above and ever more so when combined with other devices such as  remote video, breath and heart monitoring devices 1. For example it is now possible to analyze the brain activity of a selected target remotely to determine if a person is lying, recieving instructions incorrectly or concentrating on certain thought types that may indicate aggression as well as  what numbers the a targetted person may be thinking through their silent thought, use in combination remote heart rate and breath monitors as well as video surveillance, then relay the combined information to police and others around the surviellenced person in the area in general through the use of sound projection devices 2. and microwave voice to skull 3. for much more efficient surveillance or psychological operations. Such technology which is capable *now* is something far worse than Orwell had ever dreamed. I do not want to live in a world where *even* ones private  brain activity  and some silent thought can be analyzed by those who rule.
